Who is better than the Panthers in the NFC after 5 weeks

We have a pretty important mid season romp against Redskins, Eagles , Ravens , Bucs, Steelers, Lions, Seahawks

I dont think we'll have a great indicator of how good we are until we've gotten through 8 games  (So through the first Bucs game)

I tradionally use the mid season mark to really gauge the team. If we can make it through that and be 6-2 or 7-1 we'd be one of the better teams in the NFC. If we lose 2 or 3 then we'll be middle of the road/fringe team

Next 2 games in particular are critical against two NFC opponents that are loaded with talent

Rams, Saints, Bears are better than us right now unless we plan on putting up 40 against them

Redskins, Seahawks .... we better show up, or they’ll beat us

Also all the AFC South games will be tough including the browns.

If we can clean up the D and our offense gets faster (get Moore, Samuel etc... more touches) we can beat anyone including Chiefs and Rams

I just don’t think the Bears are better. They blew a 20 point lead in the 3rd against a hobbled Rodgers, barely beat the putrid Cardinals, barely beat a down Seahawks and crushed and overrated TB team. Their defense is one of the best if not the best in the league, but that’s it. If their O goes off like they did last week, I will be on your side about that, until then, I will respectfully disagree.

As glum as a lot of you are, I can only imagine had we not actually won...

The Panthers should be in the discussion for the best team in the NFC behind the Rams, who obviously look like the most talented right now.

The Panthers were flat today, and we had a chance to pull away twice and let them back in, but we still won against a Giants team with their back against the wall and pulling out everything to win.

Still a lot of football to be played, but the Panthers look like a playoff team.  Even in spite of the uneven game by Cam, he put us in position to win at the end.

On offense, we need to work Moore & Samuel back into the line up, and get Olsen back hopefully next week.

We get TD back next week on defense and another week for the secondary to gel.

Still a lot of room to improve, but the talent is absolutely here for a deep playoff run.  Again, only the Rams to me  have discernible more talent, but it's a long season.

We can beat any one of those teams.  Just have to play better than today.  Flat performance.

Yeah I think we can hang with any team. What did they say about us last year going into Pats game, Vikings game, Aints playoff game, etc...?

I don't know why the only thing brought up between Saints and Panthers is how we will be hurting to match up with them.  They need to worry about matching up with us.  We are worried about our "middle of the pack defense"?  Their defense is much worse in almost every single statistical category.  They are nearly or are dead last in every defensive passing statistic.  They give up few rushing yardes a game, but when you are the 3rd worst passing defense, teams don't have to run it.

I am not saying the Saints will be some easy win.  But only looking how our defense will match up against their offense is avoiding a ton of aspects of the game.  Aspects that will benefit us greatly.

Common opponents, defenses don't look all that different from where I'm sitting.

Falcons: Saints gave up around 400 yards. 37 points. Panthers gave up around 450 and 31.

Giants: Saints gave up 299 yards and 19 points. Panthers gave up 430 and 31.

I mean, Saints defense gets trashed here but Panthers defense gets a "flat" excuse lol.
