Its time to fire Rivera

You guys just keep looking at the neighbor's lawn and thinking how green it looks.

I mean, 50% of the teams have better coaches.    Obviously a mid-season firing isn't happening, unless something crazy happens, but if this mediocre play keeps up Tepper needs to look at options.    Ron needs to wake up and realize it's 2018 and not 1985.    He'll scrap through and we'll barely win some more games and then when it matters, we'll be outcoached, as usual.

Yup.  The one time you would think to add in some wrinkles and actually gameplan a little for a game that can literally change your life...  and you just go out like it's any other Sunday.  Smh...  i didn't think I could watch football again after that game lol.

See, I think that defines a lot of the discussion.

You can be a good coach and win a lot of games.  Marty Schottenheimer did.  Dennis Green did.  etc, etc.

If you're gonna win a championship though, and be consistently in contention, you need to be great. "Good" isn't good enough.

People point to Rivera being smarter than people on this board.  Valid, but that's not the point.  We don't need Rivera to outcoach me.  We need him to outcoach Sean Payton, Doug Pederson, Mike Zimmer and such.

It's hard to be confident in that when Pat Shurmur takes what you'd likely considered to be an inferior roster and puts you in a position where you need a 63-yard miracle field goal to win the game.

The Bills once went 5-0 and then failed to make the playoffs,..

The 2008 Steelers started badly and were written off, came back to walk through wild cards to win the Super Bowl,.

our team starts our ugly, but manages 3-1,.. almost reminds me of 2013,.. the birth of Riverboat,.. anyone remember that?

ugly start, all the same kind of hate comments—- we ended up really good,.. and a few bad ref calls from Cam beating the 49ers, who know what happens after that.

the point is, our offense is still coming together, the receivers coming back from being out, getting in tune with Cam etc,..

our OC is still getting in tune with his players,..

it will gel at some point. The defense we will see— the Steelers defense was BAD but then had a fix it game against Matt Ryan,..

that was our 4th game,.. after a bye week that we usually play bad in,.. and we just had rusty players come back from injuries,..

I’m sure Norv will get it more smooth, and I’m sure there are players that left plays on the field that will improve,..

we should have lost,..

but we survived by the grace of Gano ha

in Gano we trust,..

Now that’s a better way of making a point.

i do wish we had a Pederson or McVae or Mike Zimmer,... or even Shumur,..

but we have to deal with Riverboat,...

Riverboat has gotten us to 4 playoffs and a Super Bowl,.. so who knows.

It took Bill Cowher 15 years to win a Super Bowl.

Are we that patient?

And who would you replace him with that fits the championship caliber?  You can’t just fire the guy unless you have someone in mind.

I’m almost 45 so hell to the no ha.

Well, the thing about coaches that are good, but not great, is they're really difficult to move on from.

They can always point to their record and say "hey, we're gonna get there eventually." And maybe they will, but maybe they won't.

I'm not sure the Panther fanbase is patient enough to wait another ten years for a Super Bowl. And while Tepper has promised to be patient, I don't know if he's that patient.
