Its time to fire Rivera

Sorry, but you're encouraging the idiocy.

Not really.

I've said elsewhere I'm not in favor of firing Rivera, but on the flipside it's not like we don't know his flaws.

Guys like Dennis Green, Marty Schottenheimer and others were all great regular season coaches who tended to fold in the playoffs.  Even Andy Reid has had that rep, and the Eagles did indeed win their first Super Bowl without him.

It's fair to questioning whether Rivera can win a Super Bowl at this point.

I don't even know if Rivera will be "fireable" after this season.

Just sayin' if we're looking, that's a hot name right now.

With Tepper you never know. He is the same guy that wanted to fire Tomlin and he got a superbowl.

New owner is always a wild card, even if he believes in the Steelers mantra of "patience".

I think we'd have to have a losing season before any thought is given in that direction though.

Rivera was absolutely awful today. Some bad calls by the officials and some genuine lucky plays bailed us out.

I love this team but if we don't start rushing the passer, bench torrey Smith and start pushing leads past 7 points we're going to regress hard

the only coachable thing that concerns me today the clock management-again. I'm not sure what the issue is but we waste time outs and run the clock down way to much. I'll assume the sloppy route running and the lack of a pass rush will be fixed by the half way mark.

I've mentioned it numerous times before, but I'm convinced it's because of his prehistoric coaching approach that other teams have even stated publicly relies more on execution than out-strategizing.  IIRC, both the Seahawks during the LOB-prime and the Broncos after the Superbowl basically said that we do the same things...  there is no window dressing or exotic looks.  Teams pretty much know what we're doing (especially defensively) and we dare them to out-execute us.  And so, with division rivals, they've had twice a year, every season to gameplan on how best to attack it, and they have done just that...  and we make zero to minimal adjustments.

Knowing that, I'm still not sure how anyone thinks there isn't a better coach out there for us...  when all a coach does is set up a meta and places all responsibility on his players to execute to perfection, instead of gameplanning to make their jobs easier while outthinking his opponent, I can't think of a more outdated and lazier style of coaching that is any easier to replace.

If anything, the most recent Superbowls have shown us (ours included), that you have to have aggressive coaching combined with an evolving, forward-thinking coach that actually views the game as chess, not checkers.

Ron isn't even playing checkers...  it's more like connect four.

It still hurts when I remember the Broncos wondering why we didn't show anything different in the Super Bowl.

Yup.  The one time you would think to add in some wrinkles and actually gameplan a little for a game that can literally change your life...  and you just go out like it's any other Sunday.  Smh...  i didn't think I could watch football again after that game lol.
