So to you a hard, physical, LEGAL tackle means the same thing as "taking him out"?

Yes especially given the context that he specifically said if he doesn't slide, if they really wanted to injure him then sliding wouldn't deter them.

If Matt Ryan or Drew Brees are running in the open field and don't slide I want our players to "take them out" with a soul crushing shot to the midsection and if a rib or two gets cracked and they go out of the game then all I'll say is they should slide instead. I expect no different from any opponent.

Oh come on!  We've been told by our resident expert that they're FRIENDS and that Jordan was JUST JOKING!

Are you saying that you don't believe our resident expert? ;)

Actually, I said trying to derive that they were trying to knock him out of the game because he got hit and left the game and Jordan said they thought they knocked him out of the game is some stupid poo.

Not just saying Collins is the only guilty party.  I think the clip just shows the general idea around the league is trying to hurt cam in some way.  Him being a big som bitch may have something to so with it I'm sure.  But no excuse to come out and say like Jordan " man hes tough, we tried to take him out".....or Collins "if he dont slide gotta take him out".

I'm not cool with that with any player.

Get real butt hurt when it's my QB lol.

I get your post man. That was for sure a Freudian slip.

Thats the way the game has always been played though for sure. I played in the 80’s and 90’s and the way to ensure a victory was to take the QB out on a hard hit. Hasn’t changed.

Im actually happy for the new rules because I’ve seen Cam get molested for too long and we can benefit from the refs being pressured into making fair calls across the boards.

You missed the point "take Him Out" meaning out of the game.

If Cam gets knocked out of the game by a legal tackle above the knees and below the head because he decided not to slide then that's on Cam. I feel the same way about an QB running the ball. You play the one position where you are given an easy out to avoid getting hit.

Jaylon Smith lighting up Eli earlier this year comes to mind lol.

I think he could have used a better choice of words, however.

That's ridiculous. It was the first time it was said. It still is now.

It’s weird that I’ve never heard any player on our team talk about “knocking” anyone out of the game though.

But when it comes to cam you hear that word/phrase thrown around. Why is that?

Nobody really knows a players intentions at the end of the day unless they flat out admit they are targeting. But cam has taken some absolutely violent shots that haven’t been penalized so you’ll have to excuse us for being a bit sensitive when players use the phrase “knock out of the game” about Cam.

I understand what you're saying, and agree about not knowing intentions. It just seems foolish to try to make something out of saying they thought they knocked him out of the game, after he left the game. The hit, imo, wasn't even malicious. I could understand if it was a late or dirty hit and he said it.

Listen, every single time a Panthers player gets hit it's dirty and they are trying to end his career with a dirty hit to either the knees or the head, but everytime someone on the Panthers jacks someone up helmet to helmet it is clearly an accident and there was nothing else he could possibly do to avoid the situation. Put on your blue colored glasses so you can see this more clearly.

Thing is unlike opposing teams the Panthers don't make it a habit to continuously try and remove a critical player from the game. There are many teams that do just that and talk trash after they made that hit on Cam, especially their fan bases.
