did you see the catch he made way downfield the last Cowboys game?

Yes  he can catch no doubt he’s very good. Just saying guys like earl campbel Dickerson Jamal Lewis Adrian Peterson were big and not great receivers It helps to be agile that’s my point

Add in Jerome Bettis pure rusher not a receiver

For today’s nfl being an all purpose back is very important. For being an all purpose back 210 pounds is much better than 232. Think guys like faulk, barber, Emmitt Smith, Thurman Thomas, even back to Payton and sanders etc etc Most all round backs were no bigger than cmc some smaller. If you check  the all time scrimmage yard leaders all around cmc size not Saquon size

Top all time running backs  in yards from scrimmage:

smith Payton Faulk Tomlinson Sanders Gore Allen Martin Thomas Dorset Barber  no 230 pounders in that group All from 190 to 215

Barkley a better version of jstew....those guys are dime a dozen, but I will say he may be the best in a while...could be emmitt Smith, could be jstew...won’t know for a few yrs

cmc does it all...modern prototype nfl back...he’s great with Cam

What?

Barkely is nothing like Jstew. He is a do it all back made for the modern era like Kamara, CMC, Gurley, Bell and a handful of others.

Barkley has

27 receptions for 193 yards. Pace of 108 receptions, 772.8 yards
56 carries for 260 yards 3 TDs. Pace of 1040 yards, 12 TDs

He won't catch 100+ balls, but will probably catch 70+, if healthy. Rushing yards will probably go up a little. Something like 1100 Rushing, 500-650 receiving with 10+ total TDs. He is a complete back.

Stewart has had more than 27 receptions in a season ONE time. Barkley is in a completely different stratosphere skill wise.

If you prefer CMC over him, that's fine. CMC is great, and cheaper. But comparing Barkley to JStew is odd to me.

Barkley would be the answer to any non-bias football fan. CMC has been great so far this season and is living up to his billing. That said,Barkley is a generational talent at rb,faster stronger more agile and has been great as a receiver. He is as good a pass catcher as CMC not sure he is as good as a route runner but he is better in ever other area of the game. 230 pounder who runs a 4.3 or 208 who runs 4.48.

Ian Thomas is better than both and will have a longer & more successful career.

I watched them both for the past 4 years. Saquon is much stronger. Cmc is a better route runner. While saquon has great lateral movement he does not always get enough yardage straight ahead because he’s always looking for the long run. As a result he had several mediocre days in college when the big runs weren’t there. If you look at his 2017 college game logs he was held under 100 yards in 8 of 13 games not really consistent.

Stewart never played in an offense that featured throwing to running backs. He had hands.

Barkley is the real deal, but Stewart got wasted in Carolina. Besides, we will see what Barkley looks like in 10 years.

I’ll just put up 2011, 47 receptions 447 yards and then we stopped,..

that wasn’t an aberration.
