Is it racist to bring up dropout rates, single mothers and violent crimes within the AA community, after all Eric Reid did say you need to talk about issues to make them better. Are all these pressing issues I just brought up the white man's fault cause of slavery 400 years ago? Last i checked highschool was free and its your own choice whether u get a girl pregnant and stay or leave, also its your own individually decision to start committing violent crimes.

How are there so many successful Black Americans in America with all this "oppression" here.

In all honesty you make you own choices in life, if you want to be a street rat and be a piece of poo in life, dont blame your failures on anything other then yourself. Its always the same crowd of low life losers that want to use some Blanket Argument about racism and oppression for the reason they failed at life. When the same fuging person of your color accels through life and has a great career because they studied hard and did all the right things, and your sitting in some dumpster apartment with 0 savings blaming it on everyone but yourself.

I don't think you understand the concept of systematic oppression.

Nobody is saying black people are automatically absolved from poor decisions they may or may not make (hence why Reid and Kaepernick are so focused on programs for inner-city students, which are predominately minorties).  But unless you think there is something in their DNA that makes them more prone to, for example, graduate at a far lower rate than white people, then I'm not sure how you don't realize it is tied to the system.

It's a cycle.  Minorities such as black people are more likely to grow up in a poor neighborhood, thus they are more likely to go to a poor school, thus are more likely to fall in bad traps.  It's a system that is hard to escape because the system doesn't give people that many outlets.  Not everyone grows up with a fair opportunity to escape.

One thing that would help is more funding for inner-city schools, but nope.  Go to a nice suburban school in Raleigh (like I went to) or a good college campus in Charlotte (like UNCC where I attend), and then go to a school like St. Aug or a high school/elementary school in the middle of nowhere and tell me the kids at those schools have the same chances.  You'd be a fool to think they do.

do black people value education less than white people? or are they just dumber than white people? a combination of the two?

and do they make less money because they're lazier?

I can’t speak for everyone but it is statistically evident that there is a significant gap between ethnicities when it comes to furthering education.

If if we are talking purely on a wage standpoint a lot of this is based on salary negotiations. Women of all races will have to negotiate their worth more than a white male would have to. At the end of the day a resume speaks for itself and if folks continue to settle for less than there will always be less opportunity for more cash flow.

It’s been specifically said that the protests are not against the military. If you are drawing another conclusion on it then that would be on you friend.

They did it in a way that they thought would best get your attention. That’s what protests do. Any other way and you might not notice at all or flip to the next station.

It doesn't matter whether they say the protests are against the military or not when certain people take it that way and are offended. Are people offended by the confederate flag? Damn right they are but I bet if you ask some people that fly that flag they will say it is just their heritage and doesn't represent hate. How well do you think that will go over? All I see in this thread is people with their mind made up one way or the other and nothing will change. Nobody sees the other side or are even willing to come to the table to talk. Thread is over as far as I'm concerned.

That was sarcasm...

Would love to hear as to why YOU or other feel is to blame for the wage gap. I could give you a number of factors but why waste my time when I’m being called racist?

I don't need to answer anything.  You said people have equal opportunity regardless of race.  If that was the case, there wouldn't be a massive difference in wage gap.  You can't make a baseless statement without a defense.

I'm not calling you racist.  I would never demean someone like that without having met them unless they said something so blatantly offensive (which I haven't seen you do yet).  And I hope you don't think me responding to you means I have anything personal against you or anything (honestly, I just enjoy a good debate).

However, if you want to know, I think the reason for the wage gap is absolutely because of race.  Now if you want to debate whether it is intentional, have at it.  But I don't see how anyone can look at that gap and not point at it being race-related.  It would be illogical to think otherwise, quite frankly.  Especially on such a large-scale.
