Eric Reid Press Conference

Not really digging the "my people" line. Sports is about bringing people together.  I remember going to the NFC championship back in 2015. Everyone was so happy and excited. It really connected the city and brought people together. I think Eric Reid has an amazing opportunity to bring people together. I really hope he doesnt use his voice to create anger amongst people and diminish great progress. Charlotte has experienced good progress compared to the rest of the South. It's not there yet but wouldnt want to see progress diminished or tested needlessly.

Oh, racism is alive and well. I just don’t agree with the sentiments that people don’t have access to the same success that some have based on their ethnicity. I would argue that based on ones ethnic background they have MORE opportunity than some that are born into nonminority families.

Thats not racist and it doesn’t mean I am not an advocate for abolishing racism altogether. I’m just throwing out what should be obvious and that is you can’t tout inequality in one facet without recognizing it at the other end.

You brought up inequality in another country in order to take away from the very real problems here. You're even trying to say minorities have special privileges, though oddly they don't prevent us from being murdered by the cops or discriminated against. The black people in your wedding don't counterbalance your poo views and attempts to deflect, sorry

Just listening to the press conference. He had little to say about football or team or goals. He had a lot to say about his political goals and people. I hope he's dedicated to football and not just his causes off the field.

You clearly didn’t listen to the presser.

If there ever was a negative for signing Reid, it's that every thread is now at risk of belonging in the tinderbox. Mods are gonna be working overtime.

They likely wont do anything because clicks are clicks and that's all that matters.   If anything they will wait until 10 new degenerate alts are created that need to be dealt with. Then several days late they will make a big phony stink about civility and keeping politics out of this forum.

From the interview it seems he’s upset about slavery.

Why is it that subject that happened over 100 years ago even be brought up because it not even worth talking about because the past cannot be changed since it has already taken place. We have to move forward to make things better or it will get worse like it is now.

He's been banned repeatedly. He'll be back... and he'll get banned again. This cycle has repeatedly itself ad nauseum.

Correct but its still nice to get a break even if you know the break won't last. lol

I salute him for his service to our country.

As do I. But what I’m getting it at is that it is not right for the NFL to force them to participate in anthem. Regardless of how you feel about it. I wouldn’t kneel during anthem. But it doesn’t mean the same thing to someone else as it does to me. And the military fights for the rights of its citizens.

What the league has done is wrong. It is fundamentally wrong to force participation and it’s also wrong to ask them to sit in the locker room. That allows them to project an image of solidarity in a league and culture that has dissidence.

And thank you for your service as well.

Women in general clearly pursue furthering their education more than men. As someone who spent an additional 7 years behind a desk of a lecturing professor and a simple google search to a legitimate source can tell you that women are the vast majority of college campuses across the nation so your statistics don’t really hold water.

I don't know the significance here concerning what I stated.  I've shown white Americans get educational opportunities in the same arena as black Americans.  Mentioning Affirmative Action.  Yet in any case, why do you bring up education as a means of bettering oneself?  It's true that it helps if you can get it, but when it comes to American history, education is no equalizer.  Not even a little bit!!!  Check out this article.....

So here it is.  Look at that.  The white high school dropout, have more wealth than a black person with a college degree.  So much for your theory.  Listen, I'm bringing all of this to change your mind.  Not just your mind, but everyone who thinks the problem with black life is black people.  People say "You're not trying hard enough", "If you stop killing each other", so on and so forth.  Never do we actually look at the root cause as to why black people are continuing to suffer to this day.  Again, this is why I'm glad Eric Reid is speaking on this stuff.
