I give guys like Reid, Kap, Jenkins credit

them bringing attention to the issue has had a direct positive impact on me.

I was raised constvative. I was in the mind bubble where reality was what my elders and influences told me it was

since this whole thing, ive decided to actually have an open mind and hear out what these players were trying to get at instead of just being in denial and regurgitating the same ignorant reaponse.

Well, i did a lot of research and i fully support these playets and their mission as well as other social injustices

count me in the statistical category of “things wont change unless we talk about it”

This is common to talk about individual lives.  I'm talking about the whole in populations.  Even in your individual, poor white Americans have more wealth and income than poor black Americans.

There's a bunch of articles that speak on the wealth gap.  Here's one.....

https://www.businessinsider.com/racial-wealth-gap-in-the-us-is-astounding-2015-3

Now studies like this add in depreciating assets.  When you purely talk on assets that don't devalue over time, black families are around 1.7k.

This wikipedia page talks on income.....

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_ethnic_groups_in_the_United_States_by_household_income

Now look at that chart.  Look who is at the bottom.  How can this be?  Logically speaking, white and black people have been in this country the same amount of time, and thus should have similar numbers right?  It only makes sense of course when you take in history.  Over 200 years of slavery, over a 100 years of Jim Crow, and today we are living in an age of rampant wealth inequality.  You can't flick away all these things just because of your individual life.

Very weird indeed. 2 of those races at the bottom have the lowest graduation rate in highschool. The top 3 races focus on higher levels of education in college.

Its almost like races that have a culture of pursuing education are wealthier then cultures that have no regard for education.

Life is weird like that, you have to put in the work to be successful.

My father in law could teach all of you something about inequality living in Communist Romania. Most of you know nothing of anything outside your own illusioned being.

Highlighting inequality in other countries is deflection and useless in this discourse bc this is America and Reid is talking about inequality and injustice here. We get it, you're a racist too

pack it in everyone, Botham Jean can rest easy now knowing there is no real injustice because WarHeel's father is from Transylvania.

The fact that you tried to irrationalize my statement of inequality by generalizing someone based on their country of origin is irony at its finest.

There's only one fix.  We're talking reparations.  A wholesale investment into black American descendants of slaves.  The same way this country invested into the super wealthy with the bailouts given by Bush and Obama.  That is the just thing to do, and would transform this nation back to the days of the New Deal.

And there it is...

Basically it's people who drop out of highschool then get involved in stealing or drugs who get targeted by police then claim racism and oppression.

No-one brings up the giant elephant in the room as to why police target minorities.

Because of racism

Easy

Literally nothing new was said by anyone. Not one opinion was swayed in any way. Butts were hurt. Teeth were gnashed.

I figure there will be at least 20 more pages of arguments from people who have agreed to drop it.

You know, the usual.

But chuck got the stick so we have that.

Really?  All I have to say is you simply don't know enough to have this kind of conversation.  None of those top groups have the history of black Americans, and even Native Americans have.  Do I have to remind you what happened to all those black folk who tried to build themselves up after the days of slavery?   I call the reverse of your username.

What are you trying to say here?

That black people commit all the crimes bc we are simply more apt to it

Got nothing to do with societal issues which put black people behind the eight ball, or racist systems which target poor black communities like stop and frisk

There have been countless police depts investigated by the DOJ that have been found to be racist in their policing practices, bc they target minorities and levy fines to generate revenue, but the poster you quoted is a racist and wants to paint black people as behaviorally deviant rather than ask questions about the how and why. Typical racist bullshit.

that's step 1 but on its own won't fix much. we'd still live under an exploitative system. give reparations and it would be a game of who can steal the money back the fastest. policing also wouldn't be fixed and would still target black people who reparations would pull out of poverty into the working class, but the police aren't here to protect the working class. they're here to protect the wealthy. the fix has to include 1) abolish capitalism 2) reparations and 3) complete overhaul of the police system, with community policing by social work specialists and not combat specialists

That's not what he did at all. You're missing the point purposely and revealing how little you think of black people. We see you out here speaking in euphemism bc youre too puss to be outright racist. But you are a racist.

I have learned long ago, the huddle is basically 99% left leaning. What makes it even worse is that the majority of them will call you every liberal name in their playbook for disagreeing with anything they collectively agree with.

So it’s a waste of time and effort to have any meaningful discussion on any issue on the forum.
