Yeah cause cancer kids and women are the same as social justice. Idiot.

Actually it’s the same thing. You want to just watch football and no politics ( social injustice is not politics it affects minority’s regardless of political affiliations). I want to watch football and no cancer kids (breast and kids cancer affects everyone regardless of political affiliation). Cancer has affected my family member FYI but I still have the right to watch grown men knock each other out.  Thanks for the name calling I’m glad my comments made you uncomfortable Godbless.  Mission accomplished

I like this guy already and he already taught me something i didn't know. I was unaware that black people were excluded from social security for 20 years, I guess I'm not surprised it just never really thought about it.

Here's something else you didn't know, then: of the 20.1 million citizens excluded from the 1935 Social Security Act, at least 15 million were white.

Examining the Race Explanation

First, note that the coverage decision made in 1935 was not to exclude farm and domestic workers, which, had that been the factual circumstance, might have lent more credence to a charge of racial bias. Rather, the decision was to include only those workers regularly employed in commerce and industry. Thus, the coverage decision also excluded the following.

  • Self-employed individuals (including farm proprietors)
  • Persons working in the nonprofit sector
  • Professionals such as self-employed doctors, lawyers, and ministers
  • Seamen in the merchant marine
  • Employees of charitable or educational foundations
  • Employees of the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals
  • Persons aged 65 or older
  • Casual laborers
  • Members of Congress
  • Employees of federal, state, and local governments—everyone from the president of the United States to post office clerks

Indeed, of the 20.1 million gainfully employed workers that the president's Committee on Economic Security estimated were excluded from participation in the Social Security system, at least 15 million were white.6

Here is the source of that quote.  It is a somewhat lengthy read, but worth it, if anyone REALLY wants to be educated about the FACTS, not just be swayed by modern-day racist rhetoric.. Exclusions were made because of the administrative problems of collecting withholding og various groups.  Farm  and domestic workers were certainly excluded, but they surely weren"t alone.

Educate yourselves.  I did.  Then reflect on it.  Tell me what relevance it should have to a football player, 80 years later.

Good for him for speaking from the heart and being honest.

I didn’t detect that he was frustrated by the questions but after having to say the same thing multiple times to reporters trying to get a rise out of him, he had every right to be frustrated. Props to the female reporter who actually asked him football questions.

Everything he said was factual and I’m impressed that he even noted the differences between the distribution of the G.I. Bill between African-Americans and Caucasian’s after WWII.

I personally don’t agree with how he handles the oppression as I feel that we won’t truly respect each other as people until we address issues as people rather than through division. However, I respect his right to protest in whatever way he sees fit as long as it is legal.

He’s going to be a great addition to the secondary.

This is how you handle disagreement. Not "shut up and play football"

Did he say anything about all the murders in Chicago?

I don’t think so. You know what else he did say,  the amount of patriotic Carolina Panthers fans in line at the hotdog and beer line during the national anthem instead of standing with hand on their chest or amount of people who have died from prescription drug overdose.
