Ridley>Moore?

@TheRed actually killed this thread and he's damn near fighting the battle by himself lol.

Ridley fell into an absolutely perfect situation. He's not being asked to be the guy right now. Even with the TDs he's scoring, teams aren't shading a safety his way. All he's asked to do is beat the man in front of him, and as a very good route runner, he's feasting.

Ridley would have trouble replicating his start, imo, in any other offense in football, maybe outside of Pitt. Julio commands that kind of attention.

Ridley definitely was drafted into a perfect situation. A lot of people said that the night of the draft.

The question isn't if Ridley would have the same numbers so far as a Panther.  I think most reasonable people would agree that the answer would be "no" for various reasons that have already been discussed above.

The real question is if Moore would have had Ridley type of numbers if he had drafted by the Falcons.

Not entirely sure about that either, because Ridley is really the perfect WR for what the system as well.

don't need to waste time studying routes.   You got to actually be in the field to even get a target.  Snap count don't lie.

Ridley plays a lot.  Moore doesn't.  Lot of Moore's snaps have been BS backfield decoy stuff too.

Take Moore's 50 yard TD.  He got it because he ran it earlier and got wide ass open then as well.  Ain't about one getting open the other not.

You can also listen to the coaches, Quinn put an emphasis on getting Ridley involved.  Rivera said the opposite.   Opportunity.

Similar issue then -- is Ridley getting more snaps because of fortuitous, exogenous circumstance, or because he deserves to? What Moore 'would have done' with that "opportunity" is anybody's guess, as is whether he would have earned it as quickly as Ridley did.

11 pages in, I'm sure this has been said.  Right place right time for Ridley.  They are using him much more than we've used DJ so far, but I think, in the long run, DJ will have a more productive career.  Don't get me wrong Ridley has been amazing, and he's the guy I wanted, but if the roles were reversed, I think we would be asking the same question about our pick.

I think this is more aling the lines of Ron. Torrey and Funchess are not starters, but bc we are a run first team and have a QB that can do it all Ron has no urgency when it comes to WRs. He will trot the slowest and the unreliable wrs out there bc he knows who has for a QB. Waiting for Funchess or Torrey  to get injured later on in the season and trot out unseened Wrs to surprise everyone. Samuel and Moore probably will have limited snaps or on the field but not targeted. I wished Funchess was better but for him to be here what 3yrs he is not much improvement over the guys who have not had much game time ( Samuel, Moore, Byrd). Torrey can be a mentor on the sideline.

DJ was just nervous yesterday. He's a rookie and was getting his first start, it's going to happen sometimes.

Nothing DJ did yesterday had ANYTHING to do with nerves. He was holding the ball out like an idiot. Inviting the defense to pop it out. What’s concerning is that after the punt fumble he did the exact same thing next time with the ball in his hands

That was a perfect "peanut punch" by Norman though on the second fumble.  Moore is used to nobody being able to touch him and he is pressing.  That punt return it was like he was fighting to stay up to fumble.
