Ridley>Moore?

Listen mans, even when Moore starts, probably next year he will not be having Ridley numbers. We aren’t that team, we win last week with 150 passing yards. We will not be a timing based passing offense in this era and that is ok. We are a good team running the ball and playing defense, Cam has the talent to make all of the throws and does when needed, but our WR will not be lighting the stat sheet up

This where many of the fans here have no faith with their own team. I don't have faith or care what Ridley does because he is not on this team. We have Moore on our team and he is our WR. Who cares about what other WR's do when we can have faith in our own to put up good numbers in time.

This is a myth. In the last 35 games Ryan has thrown 40+ pass attempts only 4 times.

No, that was an exaggeration.  Matt Ryan has thrown the ball around 30-40 more times per season than Cam Newton has consistently through their careers, although in at least one season, Ryan threw the ball 100 more times than Cam.

The point is, they throw the ball way more than the Panthers.

Faith doesn't wins games or debunks stats the poster was telling the truth ATL is a passing team and Ridley will put up big numbers in their offense

Being honest about other players or teams is not a negative to a persons fandom towards the Panthers

Unless Ridley is bringing Julio and Sanu with him to Carolina in this hypothetical, not one soul on this message board can accurately speculate how he would be doing here. That's even if Rivera were to give him even half the amount of snaps that ATL has given him.

I know for damn sure Devin Funchess wouldn't be getting Ridley the kind of open looks Julio is.

This is a classic “a bird in the hand is worth two in the bush” scenario. In this case, Ridley is the bird in the hand. He was a known commodity when entering the draft. His floor is fairly high, and his ceiling is fairly close to that floor. Moore, on the other hand, is the two birds in the bush. As described, he is a raw receiver with the potential to be an elite receiver. His floor is lower than Ridley’s, but his ceiling is potentially much higher. The Panthers went with hoping the two birds in the bush pay off as opposed to settling for the one in the hand. Let’s hope they were right. However, at this point, Ridley has been so much better than Moore, due to his polished abilities coming out of college, regardless of what type of offense he is in. He was simply NFL ready straight out of the college game.

You just don’t get it hey?

Give it up. You spent all day announcing to everyone here that you’re a moron, don’t do it to yourself again today.

Meh. I support my players. If the roles were flipped, and we drafted Ridley only to watch him sit on the bench while Moore scored touchdowns with ATL, I would still say we can't know anything until our guy plays more. 3 games dude.

I've always liked you as a poster beyond your occasional irrational takes related to the draft, but whatever is going on with you, lashing out at others isn't going to resolve it. Keep doing you though.

I took A LOT of poo on draft night for saying we whiffed big time on the Moore/Ridley situation. So it’s a little annoying to see this all unfolding right now. Hurney gets paid millions to make decisions I can call from my couch.

Yes, obviously Ridley is in an ideal situation with dudes like Jones, Sanu and a pass first offense BUT Ridley is one of the better route runners in the entire league. He is more than capable of getting himself open.

But c’mon... “keep doing you though”? Surely you must be able to see the irony in that statement coming from you, no?

I'm trying to be consistent. I was a vocal KB guy, I've defended Funchess quite a bit as well. When the time came to call things for what they are however, I have been openly critical of both. Obviously KB had his meltdown which made it crystal clear who he is. But Funchess doesn't have the built in excuses anymore. He isn't a rookie 3 games into his career. He can't keep playing small. He can't keep getting outmuscled by smaller DB's. He can't keep letting passes go right through his hands.

Now as far as Ridley and Moore go, I avoided the draft talk this year almost entirely specifically because of the amount of angst you've been putting on display since April. I don't think I so much as posted once about either of them before we drafted Moore. If it turns out Moore sucks I will be just as disappointed as you. I was fine with drafting either because WR was unequivocally where we needed to go in round 1, but I knew these 2 guys would be forever linked no matter which one we selected with our pick. There were legitimate cases to be made for both.

So, can we at least see how DJ looks against the Giants (only his 4th career game) before we send Ridley to the hall of fame and declare our guy a bust? That's all I'm saying.

    • Bryce put it in a spot only his guy could get it only for David Moore to drop it. T_T Tremble and Horn both struggled yesterday and that killed me since they're two of my favourite players. Tommy knows he has to come down with this one. Folks were understandably saying that JT would've caught that had he not gotten hurt a few plays earlier. The more I look at this play, the more I think that Bryce made the right decision throwing it out the back of the endzone. He could have tried to laser it in to Thielen, but that safety is lurking awfully close inside. Insuring the field goal here after a 44sec drive to end the half was the right move.
    • Except Bryce was the main reason we were in it
    • NFL Pro has the All-22 up already 😄 Going to grab a play or two from each redzone series to put screenshots to. Looks like AT angled his route off to the near pylon rather than the back corner where Bryce was throwing to. I imagine this is something they'll quickly try to figure out with Thielen back from IR. After watching the All-22 again, this was actually a pretty nifty play. I thought it was a TE screen to Tremble because of the way XL charged the DB, but he quickly shed and kept upfield as seen in the second screenshot. This looks like it had multiple layers built into it with AT running the crosser, XL the fade, Tremble to the flat. The progression would call for the play to go to Chuba here as the LB does follow Tremble out into the flat. Ball hits Chuba low and in the hands, but the LB does a good job disrupting the catch.
