Foxhole: Heavy artillery on d-line....

On injuries: Did not participate: Na'il Diggs - rib, Brad Hoover - back, Rhys Lloyd- ankle, and Jonathan Stewart - Achilles.

On if kicker Rhys Lloyd was injured while trying to make a tackle during a kickoff against Tampa Bay: On that play, yes.

On the trade for defensive tackle Tank Tyler: He's a guy that we feel like is going to help us, obviously to trade for him and give up a fifth-round pick. He's a guy we knew a little bit (about) coming out (of college). As far as our evaluation, we watched him on tape there with Kansas City and felt like he could definitely help us, so we're glad to have him aboard and looking forward to working with him.

On playing against Bills center Geoff Hangartner, who played for the Panthers from 2005-08: It will be interesting. He was a very well-liked guy in our locker room by the coaching staff, by his teammates. Any time a guy can better his career to get an opportunity, I think everybody was happy for him. He'll be trying to whoop us and we'll be trying to whoop him, but all in good fun. It will be good seeing him. He's a good man.

On the Bills: They're a very, very good football team. They've got weapons; they've got good players. I believe they're well coached. They had an excellent game against a good football team (New York Jets) last week on the road. So we're looking for a very good football team to come in here to our place.

On if quarterback Jake Delhomme is doing anything differently than he has in the past: Probably no different than any other year. No different than maybe after our first game this year when everybody wanted to pin the Philly loss on him. Probably no different than when we were sitting at 0-3. As a football team - not just one guy - I don't think any of us were very good. I don't think me as the head coach was very good. I think top to bottom that was the deal. I think over the last three weeks, and I'm counting the bye week as one of those, guys have worked very hard. A week ago, there was some disgruntledness over our run game. Guys worked hard, responded well and we got that working. This is a tough game played by tough people. You keep working until you get better. I don't think the passing game rests on one guy's shoulders.

Well there you go. Everybody says that Fox don't care and won't ever take any blame. Obviously, that's not the case. I'm sure people will forget about this quote very quickly and jump on the next quote that fits what they want to believe though.

BTW, remember when fans were so outraged because Fox gave his players a couple of days off during the bye, and how it guaranteed that they wouldn't get any better? Looks like that was bullshit too, don't it?

yea but frankly, this is the first year in as long as i can remember where we've looked better coming off a break. and i'm not sure if it wasn't just that we were playing so fuging poor going in that there was no way but up.

Big mamma would have made a better DT than any of these scrubs we traded for.

Jeez, another person acting like quality 300+ DT grow on trees and teams line up to get rid of them. We lose Kemo, get Leonard, lose Leonard, get Thomas, Thomas plays well and obviously helps, then add depth with Tyler.

I suppose your solution to the problem would be to just have no one there at all. I think the FO has actually done quite well adressing the DT losses considering the talent pool there is to draw from.

    • If Cam is done, he just needs to retire.  Even on that episode of the podcast, he said he would never play again, but he's not going to "retire."  OK.   I think it's stupid.  Cam Newton is the best player in Panthers history.  He made us relevant.  He was polarizing, but you can't deny that Cam changed the course for the Panthers.  He needs to have a sit down with Tepper, clear the air, and Cam needs to sign his retirement.  Then the Panthers make it one for the ages and make it a city wide celebration of everything Cam has done on and off the field.
    • The retirement thing is just a convenient excuse from Tepper. I'm sure if the team was trying to bring him on officially he would do it in a heartbeat and the league wouldn't bat an eye at it. He's not getting any other calls and we know there's a direct line of communication. You telling me no other team has put up a photo of an active player who left? I have a hard time believing the league would flag a MVP display, literal team history, as tampering. Moving on from JR is clearly bull too when we're parading Luke and Smitty around. It's Cam. Tepper knows that if Cam is brought on in any capacity, as long as he looks athletic to the average fan there's going to pressure to put him in when we're struggling at QB. They've decided he's not worth that but I think is a huge mistake. The organization stands to lose more burning this bridge than he does.
    • I've been here through it all my friend. So when I say I've seen how this turns out folks really should listen. But they won't. So I continue to be entertained by fair weather fans that talk down to me as if I don't know squat. That's fine. Their in for some painful reality checks.
