Carolina Panthers sign Eric Reid to a one year deal

I have always liked the dark visor look. Honestly, he really should wear that neck thing that Kuechley wears; if it has a 1% chance of reducing concussions it’s worth it. Watching his highlights he needs to lower his level when tackling so his head hits at the chest or on the ball and not into the other player’s head.

He thumps hard and breaks up passes well, he’s even pretty good at stripping the ball, just has to adapt to protect himself and others from unnecessary head trauma.

Things are going to get really nasty really fast on here if this guy doesn't perform.

He hasn't played in a year.  He didn't go through camp.  He didn't go through preseason.

Anyone expecting him to step on the field and be All Pro Reid this week.....are getting ahead of themselves.  He probably will just get spot work this week to get his body back use to hitting and running.

I know that. Given the quality of our opponent and his situation, I'd be surprised if he was active at all this week.

he will definitely be active.  only way to get him back into football shape and is to start getting him back into football shape.  Only really occurs by playing.

Like maybe give him the redzone plays or 3rd downs or something like that.   Ease him back in.

I'd be concerned about the typical injuries you see from guys who hold out (hamstrings mainly). It wasn't exactly a holdout, but its the same net effect on his body. I hope he stays healthy and plays well.

?..You are the one with the nonsense comment. How do you figure the comment made by Rodeo has anything to do with race and saying it is race baiting when he said nothing about race whatsoever.

“Race baiting”

also known as tricking a racist into saying something racist.

Being opposed to players kneeling for our National Anthem does not make anyone a racist

i find it telling that most of those that support that behavior are the true racists

Another way to find a racist is to look for when said racist deflects responsibility for what he says and then accuses the other person of being a racist for no logical reason.

You are 2 for 2.

getting close to a personal attack.  talk about racism all you want, just don't equate it to or ascribe it to a fellow huddler.

Colin Jones looked pretty bad.  The contract is pretty cheap.  He'd have to play waaay below his ceiling.  It's possible we'll turn on him soon, but not likely.    They are going to pick on him, knowing he hasn't done camp or games, so he best be in football shape.

I'm expecting bumps, burns and blown covers, but fewer.  There will also be more breakups and take away's.  His first interception will be heralded here.

I just hope they max Reid out.  Every snap Jones is in coverage, he's a liability.  He's just not fast enough.

Professional athletes have had private sector training options, that produce better results, for years now. I am positive that if Eric Reid is continuing with his lawsuit that his first priority continues to be maintaining game readiness physically at all times. The easiest way to dismiss his claims of collusion would be to dismiss him as out of shape and not game ready. He's not actually coming 'off of the couch' as many say; this isn't the 70's. Once he learns the playbook, I'm betting he'll be good to go. He's also had a year off of playing, so he's had some time to give his brain a nice recovery period since his last concussion.
