Look At John Fox Comment, And Tell Me If I'm Reaching Or Not

“We’re in the playoffs,” said coach John Fox. “That was the goal for the season. The team that won it a year ago (the Giants) wasn’t the first season. It hasn’t been that way for a while. So the playoffs were a priority. Tonight wasn’t meant to be.”

Comments like that are why I'm not a fan of Fox.

When you enter the season you should be focused on one thing, winning the Super Bowl. His entering the season according to him was to make the playoffs. That was so he wouldn't get fired. I personally would have preferred a comment like this.

Fox "I'm not satisfied to just be in the playoffs, the goal is the Lambardi Trophy. To get to the Super Bowl we may have to play here again instead of at home. We have to work harder now. We let up and it cost us this game. It's not going to happen again."

Hmmm I see your point, but you have to get to the playoffs first before getting to the Superbowl

Fox said his goal for the season was to get to the playoffs. I see that as done in one. We're there, we lose first round and it's ok because we made the playoffs. The goal should always be to win it all. If he is satisfied to just play the game and not win the whole thing ( which is what it sounded like to me), maybe we should hand him a participation ribbon and a pink slip.

Well you know Fox has the take it one game at a time attitude. I'm definitely not saying Fox dont have the drive to win a Superbowl, he just dont show it

But hey if thats what you got from it, thats your observation

For those dont know, reaching means you thinking too much or you kinda pushing it

Actually READ & THINK about this comment

What if Dallas didn't lose yesterday, and Tampa didn't lose today. We wouldn't have been in the playoffs before this game. Somebody made a thread saying do you think us finally being in, will affect this game? We all know Fox. Am I reaching for saying yes to that question

For a guy who says 'it is what it is' a lot, that was some serious spin.

Cmon Foxie...This defiant act is kinda silly...you mean to tell me that home field advantage was not crucial for us this year given how we played at home Vs the road? If you really believe that, why aren't you tanking games like the cards? I still like our SB chances, but would it kill you to admit that yesterday's game was important?

Show some passion! It's ok! That's all I am saying....

You'll make a great politician if you wanted to...that's 4 sure

I've been a fan long enough to know that you'll get close to NOTHING from a John Fox comment. I don't understand why fans must try to sqeeze some kind of meaning from his comments when there's nothing there to begin with!

Do know that John Fox would rather have a colonoscopy than answer your questions

Don't expect the results of your John Fox interview to be any different than a colonoscopy

As much as crap as I give the Panthers', look at how much money teams like the Cowboys and Redskins waste on overpriced talent and look what they get out of it? Tony Romo can't win a playoff game to save his life!!! The Redskins aren't much better either. I mean, Richardson and Fox for the most part give us a great team to cheer for; a team that many cities would beg to have. Are we the Patriots? No. BUT we are a great organization. In less than 20 years, we've reached the SuperBowl and three NFC Championship games. That's pretty impressive.

If anything we're spoiled. haha

Still, I can't help it but say... LUCAS SUCKS! I don't care if we cut him this year. He isn't worth the money he's paid. I've watched replays of the last couple of games and unless you're trying real hard to make excuses for him... you know that he's garbage.

That why I don't think we will win on Sunday, because we are in the playoffs and that what was most important this season.

Proud of our Panthers, they played great in a hostile enviroment. Could have gone either way. Fox is the man.

We played great in the first half, i was in the endzone where we scored most of our TDs and missed that final fg by kasay. It was def a tough game but idk if you can say fox is the man, our play calling was bad in the 2nd half

Fox being Fox that's all that it is. You guys can hate on Foxy all you want but his win percentage is up there for an NFL coach.

My second point would be that, had this been a playoff game, say a couple weeks from now, Kemo would have played.

Usually if a team has clinched a playoff berth by now in the season they rest banged up starters. That is what Fox did. Had the big guy been there we wouldn't have been gashed up the middle like that, thus the name "starter".

If they play us again God help them. It will be nasty. :)
