Dr. Nancy Gritter has been named lead internist for the Carolina Panthers, making her the first woman to serve in that role for an NFL organization.

Dr. Gritter has worked with the Panthers since 2005, when she performed her first consultation for a player. Her specialties include internal medicine and nephrology. She is board certified with the American Board of Internal Medicine, and she completed her primary care sports medicine fellowship at Atrium Health in 2018, which earned certificate of added qualification in Sports Medicine.
