Red Dead 2 Thread?

Played about 3 hours and it's been pretty good so far.  It's what you'd expect from Rockstar.  i.e. great dialogue, world immersion, etc.  One of the great things about their games are the unscripted events and this is no different.  First example I just had happen was I just shot and killed a legendary bear so I was looking for somewhere to sell the pelt.  I come across a trapper and figured I'd see if he'd buy it or do something with it.  (I'm still feeling my way around).  So I walk up to him and try to talk but instead I guess I forgot the controls and ended up pulling out my gun on him.  He gets antsy and starts running off a bit.  I follow trying to remember how to holster my gun.  He stops and pulls his gun and shoots me.  So of course I have to end up killing him.  Unfortunately all this happens beside a dirt road so there was a guy riding his horse who freaks out.  He threatens to turn me in to the sheriff while trying to flee, so of course I have to kill him too.  Now that I've killed them both I search them and head back over to the trapper's camp to try and search that area.  Well I forgot to move the body so another guy rides by while I'm searching the camp and sees it.  He stops and says, "hey, mister did you do all this?"  So of course now he has to die.

I just wanted to sell a pelt.

Ha, I have been reading about this type of situation...seems closer to trying to get away with stuff in real life.

I think you need to find a "fence" to be able to sell the odd items.

so i got a horse at the beginning, was really liking him. i get out into the open world, and get jumped by like eight o'driscoll's. they killed me, and either stole or slaughtered my horse. body was gone when i got back, but the stats no longer appear in my pause menu, so he's definitely gone.

now i murder o'driscoll boys in glorious fashion every time i come across them. hogtied one and threw him off a bridge to the sound of arthur sarcastically saying "see ya later", burned another alive, watched a train run over another, dragged one behind my horse for ages, and rolled another down a mountain.

i love this game

Honestly one of the best games I’ve ever played and even better than the last one, which also was an absolute masterpiece.  It’s soooo much better if you just slow it down and take in the whole world and all the small things rather than try to rush through it.  This game is meant to be a slow burn.  Even all the side activities from fishing, hunting, poker, blackjack, random encounters, challenges, etc. are all A++.  Lol I don’t want this game to ever end

Even during the Ravens game the other day I couldn’t wait to jump back into it... and nothing gets in the way of Panthers football if that tells you anything

I've only been able to play for about 3 hours total so far, and I keep having to slow myself down.  Slow burn is the truth.  Just feels weird because of the fast pace we live in real life.

Hoping to log a few more hours over the next few days, but the fish are biting like crazy...decisions.

I'm really enjoying it as well.  I was hunting for the white Arabian horse last night and ran into the legendary white bison.  Killed the bison, but couldn't catch the horse.  Going after it again tonight.  It's one of the few superior horses in the game and you can get it very early on if you want.

I haven't really had time to dig in on the horse selections.  Is there a big difference in them?  Like noticeable?

    • I think a lot of wrs are going to go in the second round before we pick.  There are a lot of wr needy teams.  I think there will be a big run on them in the late 30s and 40s.
    • Interesting that they met with Walker three times and Cam Jackson twice.
