How do we have one thread with everyone hating on Ron for not signing Reid

False, that other thread is about addressing the S position not about signing Reid.

Don't be trying to inject logic here.

Didn't even have step 1 to get to any logic.

Matter of fact the entire first page of that thread the only mention of Reid is this post:

"This could be a smokescreen; it would not surprise me at all to bring in Reid this week."

Panthers management has never been particularly fond of players using the media to make "suggestions", and yes that includes Rivera.

Might be different under Tepper, but to be honest most teams tend to frown on this kind of thing.

It depends on the players involved, in all honestly.  Players petition for other players to sign with their teams all the time.

Ron should have scolded everybody—by name—on Tuesday after a win— while also feeding a media room rife with click-covetous, context-blind hacks a half-baked slice of analysis on Eric Reid’s playing career and subsequent social crusade.

Yes, that’s what would’ve finally put this franchise over the top, as they look to break through the pack and ascend as one of the NFC’s standard bearers who can collect 10.8 wins per year, three NFCS crowns and a 17-win conference title season.

Another missed opportunity, for sure.

Which is all well and good if you do it to the coach's face. Doing it through the media is a no no.

I have zero doubt that Ryan Kalil lobbied the team to sign his brother, but he didn't do it through reporters. You didn't hear a peep from Ryan until the deal was done.

He kinda did. He at least hinted at it through twitter.

Mitchell was bad when he was here, we don't need MORE slowness.    Also we need a FS.

Disagree. Mitchell was an enforcer when he was here. Not great in coverage, but made up for it by intimidating receivers, TEs, RBs, everybody...

However, not sure there's a place for those assets in today's NFL.

We're fans talking about players most of us will never meet. None of them give a crap what we say.

Smith is talking about teammates that he sees and works with on a daily basis.

If you want to say something to the coach about other players, say it to him in private. Don't say it through reporters. I don't care what your politics are. I don't even care how good a player you are but it legitimately does help your standing if you're a leader on the field. Smith isn't showing up much there.

What exactly did Torrey say to offend his current teammates ? Suggested a former teammate due to the injuries we have on the team, he’s righ, we are one Adams injury away from fielding a disaster at safety. Stating the obvious shouldn’t be viewed as a insult in this case

I'm sure Rashaan Gaulden and Colin Jones appreciate the sentiment.
