i hope we sign reid and he shores up the secondary and he leads the league in interceptions and we go to the superbowl and he has the greatest game ever and has the game winning interception and when goodell hands him the mvp trophy he rolls out a prayer mat, drops to his knees and screams ALLAHU ACKBAR

If we win a Lombardi I'll lead the Jihad myself.

Problem with your thesis is the customers who bail will be the ones who spend real money on luxury suites, etc....

....pikers up in 500's don't pay the bills.

The piker that called kneeling players some of the most patriotic men in the country bought the team

Sounds like this was in the works since Tuesday so I wonder if Torrey already knew an inkling about it or had at least been asked about him already.

which i didn't understand the backlash towards torrey, for the very reasons you've stated, whose to say tepper didn't have a 1 on 1 convo with torrey about reid or any of the coaching staff.

That was my first thought too.

The Panthers have never been big fans of players revealing things to the media (no team in the NFL is, really) so it definitely makes me wonder if Smith knew this was in the works.

If I were making a guess, I'd say he did. That'd be a little too big of a coincidence otherwise.

As it is, it allows Smith to put some free positive spin out there before the team makes the deal.

Clever, if planned.

You have to be colossally naive to believe that the people in the luxury boxes give two craps about players kneeling. Even Trump only makes a big deal about it to get his base of mongoloids foaming at the mouth and cheering at his rallies. He doesn't really care, he just likes sticking it to the NFL because they denied him team ownership in the past.

Do you personally know anyone who has their own luxury box?  I can assure you lots of them care about the kneeling and they do not want to see it happening in Panthers Stadium.

Actually I do, and they don't give a single fug. The box is to schmooze clients and reward employees. Many of them haven't even entered the suite while the anthem is played.

Yeah well the ones I know (multiple) do care.

Curious, where were you on Mr. Tepper when he was pursuing the opportunity to buy the team?

Were you part of the angry mob intent on painting him as a misogynist hedge-fund running carpet bagging corporate raider who plunders failing companies while throwing fake breasts at his employees and hanging big veiney balls on the wall behind his desk?

Who was your first choice to buy the team?

I'm curious as to why you popped up all of the sudden out of nowhere pretending like there was an actual contingent that was vehemently against Tepper. Also why you keep posting the same rambling sentence about an angry mob. You sound a bit unhinged. People wanted Navarro mostly because they didn't know anything about Tepper, and were worried he would move the team, since Navarro is from SC and was adamant from the start that the team would remain here.

I was pro-Tepper when I read his first profile. I like a real businessman that has succeeded across multiple industries and was able to buy the team outright with his own cash. He's innovative, loves football and is active in his own philanthropic efforts. I wasn't big on Navarro because I wasn't wild about the way he made his significantly smaller fortune and would have to have celebrity investors like Peyton Manning(who I loathe).

I can't prove or disprove that you know multiple luxury box owners, as this is a relatively anonymous message board. However, knowing the luxury box owners are a diverse group, I find it tough to believe you know multiple owners unless you work at the stadium in some capacity. Someone who actually runs in those circles isn't going to waste time ranting on a message board.
