I am currently re-watching the game (youtube TV is actually pretty damn good btw). Good post and i'll add Torrey Smith is even worse upon the 2nd viewing....waste of 5 mil.

yea im having to take back all the good stuff i said about torrey. His hands might be worse than Ted Ginn Jr (Pre Saints version of course)

4)

if the ball hits you in the hands, if you are an NFL reciever, you need to catch the mother fuging ball

imo Torrey smith needs to sit the fug down when Samuel comes back.

Funchess is a giant turd out there. id like to see him walk and have samuel, Moore, and Wright in the slot moving forward

funchess doesnt play to his size. he might as well be 5'8

I don’t have a gripe with saying he’ll have moments. I do have one with people thinking this is a consistent issue when it’s probably as much overthrows/incompletions as any other good QB in the league.

I truly want the people to whom you are responding to come up with their list of magical quarterbacks that throw perfect passes 100% of the time.

"But... but... but... I'm just pointing out the Cam throws bad passes every once in a while!"

Well, YEAH.

As do all quarterbacks at every damn level.  That kind of "intelligent" observation is about as interesting as "Water is wet!" or "Fire is hot!" or "Arthur blank uses turds for mustache wax!"

We know.

We ALL know.

That translates to a need for reidentification, which will necessarily mean a repackaging of our offensive philosophy.

With all of the rule changes and different rule emphasis that favors the offense, perhaps this is a change in emphasis that was destined to happen anyway.

Holy poo, its like I'm hearing echoes of my past voice from years and years ago.

1) There’s a lot of great young talent on this team. From CMC to Jackson to Obada, the youth of the team is balling out. We are a good team right now, but as these guys come along... OO WEE MAYNE. I have faith we will remain a contender with these guys on the roster.

These three played great and got the stats, but just as encouraging was the play of three other young guys: Moton, Van Roten, and Thomas. Just went back and watched each guy individually on the running highlights. Moton, in particular, has some really impressive blocks were he just dominates his guy. I love what Thomas is doing as a blocker, too. He had a couple critical blocks in the hole on Sunday. If either Moore or Samuel steps up this season, we can feel confident about our future at almost every offensive position (at least, as confident as you can feel in a sport where devastating injuries can strike at any moment).

CMC and Anderson > Stewart and Williams...

Honesty, looking at his yards per carry and his 1,000 yards rushing last year I think he deserves more carries...but I don’t think we should take carries away from CMC... Sooooo more running plays? But then do we have the OL to be run first?

One of them was high. It happens. Tom Brady overthrew Dorsett yet no one would remember it. Cam’s gonna miss some just like the Brady’s, Rodgers, and Brees will.

Funchess and Cam had a big miscommunication. Funchess tried going for the back-shoulder while Cam assumed he was still committing to his go route. That’s where Cam bombed the ball into no man’s land.

The one to Torrey Smith on the first drive should’ve been caught. It was catchable. And yes, it could’ve been placed better given the direction Torrey was going. I remember reading an analogy from another person. It’s like Cam hit the backboard for a three pointer instead of swishing it in. Both got the job done, except one looked less pretty than the other.

These guys get paid millions of dollars to catch a football.  Even the imperfect ones.  You get your hands on it, you should catch it.  I get irritated that every time a ball isn't caught that somehow it's Cam's fault. I can think of at least 2 passes that should have been caught.  Including the first one to Funchess.  It wasn't that far off the mark.

Can you show a drop by a wide receiver other than Funchess Sunday?  I don't remember any.

http://stats.washingtonpost.com/fb/tmleaders.asp?range=NFC&rank=232&type=Receiving shows we have 5, which is tenth most in the NFL.

https://scores.nbcsports.com/fb/leaders.asp?range=NFC&type=Receiving&rank=232&year= shows CJ with 2, and 1 each for FunFun, Torrey and Ian Thomas.

I'm not sure if either site has updated with Week 3 results yet.

Honestly losing Ginn wasn't terrible IMO.  Not that we still don't have receivers that drop balls, but Ginn seemed to drop so many crucial passes, often ones that would've gone for TD's.

The part of that deal that sucked was we basically paid Shepard the same thing to suck while Ginn had a big year in NO. I don't get mad about losing Norwell because he priced himself out of our reach. We could have afforded to keep Ginn.
