Player out for season while trying to take in account QB bullpoo

Whatever benefits offense right? Dolphins William Hayes attempted to ease up on sacking the shitty David Carr and in turn planted wrong and tore his ACL. BTW, we won't ever see Cam get any of these calls, esp since he was drilled and that player received a fine that was equivalent to the same fine given for a taunt.

I laugh that it was because of Packers fans whining about Rodgers getting injured that the rule exists in the first place and they are the ones getting screwed the most.

Haha, it's definitely true.  Trying to keep the game as safe as possible, I understand, but.....this new rule change is about as soft as it gets.

Just take advantage of the rule. If you’re in a 3rd and long situation just tell the offensive line not to block. A defender will have a free shot on your QB but it’s a guaranteed 15 yards and a first down.

I know you are being funny but then why not just do that every play? Reason is that with an open lane to the qb the defense would be able to make a legal hit easier. The problem is when the O-line is stout or at least puts up a fight, the defense is pushing hard and fighting hard to get to the QB and the hit is less predictable, leading to the possibility of a roughing call.

Its garbage. The qb is just another player, why should he be protected like that when RBs and linemen are getting slammed every play?

Because pretty much every legit starting QB in the NFL is going to be making $20M+ per season pretty soon and the owners don't want to see those guys sitting on the sidelines. Don't pretend that the majority of the owners don't likely support these new rules protecting QBs.

Ratings is a huge factor as well. Packers games which are usually near the top of the list for most highly rated games did terribly last year after Rodgers went down.

Though the injury is unrelated to this controversy, there will be a similar impact felt with the 49ers who have 5 primetime games and just lost Jimmy G for the year. No one wants to watch CJ Beathard get steamrolled.

So lemme see if I understand you...

You want to roll the dice on an entire season for one first down?

    • I just switched to prime video with fanduel south. Will I be able to watch the Canes playoff games still?
    • I mean, you can use that "logic," but the problem is that most practice squad players, backups or average guys don't put the play on film that Wharton did when given their opportunities.  Perhaps you'll end up right, but I don't think that just because a guy has been in a rotation makes him inherently less productive because he gets more snaps. I will say that the KC fans I've seen on social media loved him, and considered him their second best DT,  regardless of his "rotational" status, and generally considered him a dawg, so I'm going to give him the benefit of doubt until he shows otherwise.
    • Did I miss something?  The people we have developing players now are not the ones we've had in the past so I don't know what the heck people are talking about when they say we are not good at developing players right now.  We only have one year to go on.  Canales likes young players or players who are on an upward trajectory, especially in FA this year.  Past QB's and what he's done with Bryce are good examples. Tershawn Wharton - 26 Tre'von Moehrig - 25 Pat Jones II - 26 Bobby Brown III - 24 Michael Jackson - 28 Jaycee Horn - 25 Tommy Tremble - 24 We missed on Milton Williams but he's 26. Everyone else we picked up are on 1 year deals.  The Panthers new front office and Canales absolutely scream developmental team. Pick 8 (stay) Tier 1 Elite - Abdul Carter, Travis Hunter and Mason Graham Tier 2 Elite - Jalon Walker, Mykel Williams, Will Johnson Trade down: There are quite a few really good players that fit us at Edge, DT, S and WR mid to late 1st and high 2nd.  Some combos that would be possible that I really like.  Imagine getting 2 of these guys by trading down. Stark, Pierce Jr, Golden, Scourton, Grant, Emmanwori, Ezeiruaku, Umanmielen, Deone Walker, Harmon and this is just off the top of my head.
