Opinions...will they break down and sign a decent safety

A couple of those deep throws by Dalton were impossible for any safety or corner to cover.  He eluded the pressure, bought time and made a couple perfect passes.  Having said this, if CJ is our starting safety we will get eaten up by Brees and Ryan.  I'd rather roll with the rookie over CJ because we know what we have there and it isn't good.

LIke, we're not gonna freak out about 1 or 2 spots on a 53 man roster when we're 2-1 and have played pretty well thus far. Honestly, with the way our corners have been playing we should experiment with playing a little more man-free with three linebackers on the field, especially after TD gets back.

I don't think anyone is freaking out, but most of us understand that we have to be able to beat Matt Ryan and Drew Brees and this is going to be tough with Colin Jones out there.

I have no dog in the fight on the Eric Reid debate, but there are a couple of things probably worth considering.

Setting aside the fact that he's engaged in a lawsuit against the NFL (which you really can't, but hey) as well as the political stuff, there's also the fact that his experience and reputation would net at least a half decent salary.  Our cap doesn't have a whole lot of room right now, and "half decent" would take a chunk out of what's left.

That becomes a bigger deal when you consider factor number two.

Reid has both a hard hitting playing style and a history of concussions.  That's an unfortunate combination.  It's been enough of an issue that Reid was reportedly thinking of retiring a few years ago to avoid a future helping of scrambled brain.  After all, multiple concussions are no joke.

Put those things together and it adds up to a risk. You pay a half decent salary to a guy who gets another concussion and you're now in the same spot you were before, only with less cap space.

If at some point down the road we sign Reid, I'll be okay with it.

If we don't, I'll be okay with that too.

If Im Hurney im getting on the phone with the Texans right now.

They drafted Justin Reid, which most around here should be familiar with.  As many had us projected drafting him and most wanting him.  He has been turning a Lot of heads down there.

He's stuck behind 2 safeties who's contracts are up at the end of the year reguardless.  They are not going to resign bith at years end reguardless and a solid chance both could be gone.

They would be dumb not to take something for a guy they are going to cut at seasons end, with a guy in the wings turning heads

Put it all together and it makes you honestly wonder if he actually even truly wants to be signed and play.

Agreed. Was all for it during preseason, but no one knows what kind of shape he’s in. Physically and mentally. Not worth more than vet minimum at this point.

I wonder the same.

The guy has been gone from football this offseason hasnt been in camp or anything

Has a HUGE injury past, which people completely forget.  We like to talk about Lukes concussion problem.  But Reid came out publicly in 2015 that he was contemplating retiring due to concussion.  He also has had few other injirues that have left him on IR

All of this stuff combined overall, he's nit going to get a big deal.  More of a vet type deal to start.

He wins this suit against the league, he could make a Ton more.

So risk your body when you were already contemplating retiment awhile back for less money.

Or make more and nit risk more to your body

Id Love to have him right now.  But he may have more to gain by sitting it out

Just saying if they wanna prove they serious, they should bust a move for Earl Thomas.

Hard pass

1. Asking to much

2. Dude is going to sign with Dallas after the season, to would be throwing away a pick for less than a full season of a guy

Give me one of the Texans duo.  Both will be FA, and atleast one if not both will not be resigned by them.  And thyley have a guy waiting in the wings just as good so wont be a drop off.  Just gaining a pick for them
