DJ Moore has to earn his playing time it's that simple. Im thinking it is playbook or practice relate to why he hasn't seen the field as much. An organization just doesn't bench a 1st round rookie for no reason unless it's a QB.

Kelvin was also competing against the likes of old ass Jericho Cotchery, Bersin, Ted Ginn, Philly Brown, and whatever other bums we had at WR.

Rookies don't play under RR unless the talent at the same position is so awful that he is forced to.

 

Edit:  Scratch that, it is even worse. His rookie year he was competing against the likes of still old ass Jericho Cotchery, Jason Avant, Pilares, Tiquan Underwood, and god knows whatever other bums we had at WR.

Benjamin started because there was literally no other options on the roster.

 

 

You know his competition?

Cotchery which is similar to Smith.  A vet #3. 

Cotchery started like Smith now

Bersin who was on the PS similar to a Fred Ross

Justin Avant- a former #4 guy on a team

Philly Brown- undrafted FA that year.

Well Benjamin was learning the playbook with 3 other new wr to our system and didn't have to compete against anyone who already knew what they were doing.

If it was Moore, a udfa and two vets that no one else wanted he would probably be starting from day one. Because that's the situation that Benjamin walked into.

Steven Smith was #4 WR in his rookie year.  He mainly returned punts.  He finished rookie year with 10 receptions for 154 yards.  Steve Smith was moved to #2 WR his 2nd year and #1 WR his 3rd year.

Funchess was #4 WR his first year

Samuel was #4 WR his first year

Newsflash this is true for every team in the NFL. I can't believe people think we are sitting our 1st round draft WR on purpose.lol

Guys this is the NFL. Coaches are not stupid. There is a reason why Moore isn't seeing the field.

As I said it could be playbook or a practice issue, Moore is not doing something right if he isn't seeing the field.

People comparing this to Benjamin are missing context, we drafted him because we'd just cut Smith, let Ginn Jr. go, and had basically no one else at WR. Benjamin was immediately the best WR on the roster and I think Bersin started the year as our #2. Also, that team wasn't very good despite making the playoffs at 7-8-1 and Benjamin was mostly a garbage time stats queen.

This year is a completely different situation, even with the injuries it's not like we need Moore out there like we did Benjamin. I am disappointed we haven't seen more of out him but the fact is we haven't needed it. Honestly, the one moment this season where we absolutely had to have the kind of splash play he was drafted to deliver, we got it.

Right now Ridley is playing well.  So as of right now he is the better WR.   Also having Julio Jones blackholing coverages helps. 

 

Julio is doing for Ridley what Bradberry is doing for Jackson.
