Collin Jones made Eric Reid go from unlikely to possible

Also, a note on another topic in this thread...but Kaep and his number.  People are hating on 10 million, and I get it. I think he's at best a below-average starter, but a good backup. I'm just here to talk the money...

People should be reminded that 10 million isn't crazy when Sam Bradford is earning 20 million this year. Tyrod Taylor? 16 million. Josh McCown? 10 million. Nick Foles (SB MVP but terrible)? 10 million. Not to mention guys like Chase Daniel signed 3 year 20+ million deals in the last few years to be (eventually) 3rd string QBs.

I don’t think we are in the market for Thomas. I can’t imagine us giving up a high pick for him when he’s a free agent at the end of the year anyway.

What we need to do is sign a decent free agent like Reid, tyvon branch, Ron Parker, Iloka,

Any of those guys would be better than Collin Jones. There isn’t much that wouldn’t be better than Collin Jones back there. It’s embarrassing

Just an FYI, but Ron Parker and Iloka are both on teams. Parker back to KC, Iloka is a Viking.

NFL coaches/GMs/owners can deny it or explain it away all they want, but Kaep and Reid are both being blackballed.

In what way? Both have been offered contracts since they became free agents. They decided that they weren't lucrative enough for them to sign.  That's not being blackballed. That's refusing to accept your market value.

It's all what people are willing to give you. None of these numbers matter. Denver was ready to give him 9m to play. That's what they thought he was worth. Just cause you don't like those numbers doesn't mean people are colluding against you. A novel idea would be to play for that number and do good a get better but no this generation has to blame others for their faults.

I wouldn't call what they're doing "earning" those salaries (except maybe McCown).

They're being paid those salaries, but I'd stop short of saying they're earning them.

Wasn't the Broncos contract offer before he knelt?

Reids was contingent on him not doing any type of protest.

No it was after. Baltimore also offered him a contract but pulled it when he sued the NFL.

My b on Kaep. I forgot he did get an offer that wasn't to his liking. To me it still feels like he's being blackballed, but at this point it may be more because of his ongoing legal issues with the NFL than his protests. However, given that Jerry Jones admitted in a deposition that the NFL is cahoots with Trump it wouldn't surprise me if the league is still largely blackballing him because of his role in US race relations. Was not aware of Reid's contract offer either, but my feel for the situation is the same.

The NFL and Trump shouldn't even be in the same sentence. They hate each other after their falling out in the 80's. Trump has made the NFL look like idiots in the handling of the entire kneeling process as well.
