DB depth is looking scary

Seems like OL depth and DB depth has been an Achilles heel of this team forever.

In fairness, not many teams have enough quality depth on Oline to handle missing three starters well.  If they do, then they are probably lacking in other areas.

DB's have been a problem since the Superbowl.  We have drafted, with mixed success.  Signed a few free agents, but nothing has really worked.  Maybe it will work out this year eventually, especially if Gaulden and Jackson show something and Searcy can get and stay healthy.  Might be the difference between a solid year, and being a legit contender.

Didn’t he already say that by saying those guys were heroes?

Nope. He said that in public. What he has said privately may be completely different. He is a very smart businessman and knows how to be politically savvy if he needs to be. Not saying he definitely was being savvy at that moment but I would not expect him to say anything else regardless of how he truly felt.

Can understand the DBs. Not only have the Panthers attempted to fix with a lot of draft picks; the defense isn't based around them.

The Oline...have no idea what the reason for neglect is. I mean you draft a guy turn him to an all-pro and let him go and won't pay him his worth, you convert a DT to OL and play next to Bell for a nightmare. Don't even draft an LT to replace gross, plug in rejects until Oher, Oher goes out of the league and you sign and overpay M kalil.  Amini is still on the team and is actually going to play....I could go on and on.

This  offense and it's scheme needs an oline. Cam is mobile and has a cannon, which is worthless without an oline.

I believe you're not up to speed on recent developments, as your complaints aren't current.  The OL hasn't been neglected, as shown by the savvy acquisition of Clark to play at LT (great job, BTW, playing every snap).  Then you mention Amini ("going to play") -- he was active Sunday, but only played on ST.  They know he's not the answer.  Our OL played very well last game.

I was just commenting on the history of addressing the Oline.

As far as Sunday, they didn't play horrible but I wouldn't call that very well. Also, I am going to give it more than one game to declare the oline issues addressed and fixed.

Sunday's offense was dumpoffs and short passes to CMC. I want to see the oline hold for Cam's arm. Which, they did on Sunday to an extent. Still want to see it most Sundays as oppose to occasionally Sundays. Needs some consistency.

I agree with you completely, sir, on the need for consistency.  One game is surely not a trend -- but at this stage, we have little more to go on, but recent results.  And they were better than good.  Cam had a lot of pass attempts; it would've been almost expected that a brand new OL configuration (with a stopgap LT only in Charlotte for 4 days!) would've broken down aplenty.  Yet the Falcons only got 2 sacks.  And our run blocking was good enough to produce 121 yds, a 6.7 average per rush.  I believe that led the league!

Now if that wasn't a fluke, and if the D rebounds to their norm, we should be in good shape, looking forward.
