Official Bengals at Panthers prediction thread!!

Who impresss?

Luke Kuechly and the Panther run defense.  They show up big time this week after being embarrassed.

Also I think Norv works up some very specific ways to get Moore involved that don’t involve end arounds.   Not expecting a huge game but more flashes

Who depresses?

I still think the pass rush will be lacking this year.   I think some of that is we have schemed up pressure the last several years and it is going to take our DC awhile to really get that down.  Our days of just rushing 4 and getting results ended a long time ago IMO.   That leads to a the DBs getting beat.

Score?

Gano for the win late.  23-20

Home game a week after getting embarrassed by the Falcons bodes well for the Panthers defense. The defense NEVER plays well at Atlanta or at New Orleans. NEVER. However, they match up well against the Bengals. Personnel wise, they are a shittier version of the Falcons offense. Bradberry held Julio Jones to a pedestrian stat line and I'd expect him to do the same against AJ Green. Donte Jackson will have to be on point with John Ross, their deep threat. Tyler Boyd is an up and coming WR for the Bengals and Munnerlyn or Corn Elder will likely be covering him out of the slot. That might be the biggest weakness. I expect the run defense to look as good as it ever has after getting publicly called out by Rivera.

On offense, I think the Panthers will do just enough to win this game. Newton closes out the game in the 4th with a TD pass to Ian Thomas after nursing a 17-16 lead for most of the 2nd half.

Panthers 24

Bengals 16

Eifert is dangerous and hopefully our LB can do something about him.

Bengals are solid this year

i don’t trust the defense...at all...if a defensive team can’t get up for a top division rival, had no answers for what they saw..nope don’t trust them

in all Rivera’s years here, never heard the term ‘’lazy ‘’  before   I don’t know who it was meant for Poe or Butler, but it was one of them. DTs didn’t do their job.  Mayo did the best he could but doesn’t have speed for OLB.   Maybe we are seeing why the Falcons let Poe go  who knows

Bengals 31. Panthers. 28

A motivated( not sure why a pro has to be motivated) defense shuts down the Bengals

Offense gets 21 by halftime, up 21-3

Ron morphs into the infamous “King of prevent defense” and the Bengals tie the score at 24

Cam leads a two minute drill, finds D.J. Moore for the winning score... 31-24
