The Media Tried To Hype All these QBs, but the best one drafted this decade keeps going

tb100 the only QB on that list that I think is boo boo is RG3 and that was after Shanahan broke him.

I wouldn't trade any for Cam tho. I love the way he plays the game. I'm trying to keep back the optimism of how this offense might look next season when we haven't even finished this one. CMC, Armah, Olsen, Thomas, Moton, Williams, Turner, Van Roten, Larsen, Moore, Samuel... Cam will finally a real offense for the first time since his first two seasons. Now he's older, more mature, and more trusting that of his teammates to take the burden off of him while still being able to take over the game if needed.

And the defense? Woo... if our safeties and pass rush can shore up let's fuging goooo

I think the constant diminishing of Cam's value is just about pushing narratives.  If you don't love Cam, the next best thing for the league is hate, both emotions attract eyeballs.  Apathy is NFL's devil, how many Cleveland games have you watched?  It's like the late great Dale Earnhardt said, "It doesn't matter if they boo or cheer as long as they're making noise!"

Edit: I do think it's funny that Cam continues to be the measuring stick for the detractors.

I remember ESPN pushing RG3, Luck, Wilson, and to some extent Kaep as far and above Cam and yet only 2 of them have made a Super Bowl and only one will play for a winning team for the next 3-4 years...

RG3 was everything the mainstream media wanted from a black QB until he got injured and it turned out that his teammates preferred Cousins over him. Meanwhile they spent every possible second trying to minimize Cam's accomplishments or knock Cam for running too much, etc.

Injuries have derailed two of them. Although a couple of us were relentless about the Kaep vs cam debate. He was a one read and take off quarterback that got figured out. Same kind of deal with rg3. Although you saw kaep adjusting and going through reads and playing at a high level his last starts in the league.

cam is just on another planet compared to them minus luck who if not injuried would be in the same conversation as cam I think.

Wilson is a backyard type of player. He’s good but not like cam or luck (was).

RG3 isn't done. I suspect he will have another starting gig at some point and will be successful. He wasn't ready to read NFL defenses and used his running style to supplement his lack of understanding; the Washington trainers nearly derailed his career. He looked better in preseason than many starting quarterbacks I've seen this season. I would put him in the class of Ryan Tannehill.

I think RG3 can directly attribute his fall from grace to Mike Shanahan putting him in the playoff game when he was still hurt.  Terrible decision that had a lasting impact on his career.

Russ has a bad oline, but the performance I have been watching is about 80% on him. Schettenheimer isnt helping with those slow routes. However, Wilson is trying to make things happen with his constantly and missing his receivers.

Russ is a solid QB, but this is going to be a long year for him and that franchise.

Can we also talk how the locker room there is poo b/c of him? Not the case here.

You guys forgot that Blaine Gabbert was the better QB in that draft and the Panthers would regret not picking him.

I still remember, Terry Bradshaw on Fox pregame saying he rather have Christian Ponder and Blaine Gabbert over Cam Newton before Cam’s first regular season game.
