The most disappointing thing about Sunday was the offense's reaction to the headshot on Cam

The worst part about that hit is how so many people were defending Kazee....come on people, it was dirty AF....and don't give me any of that "He couldn't pull up when going full speed" BS because the freeze frame of the video above clearly shows Cam already on the ground and Kazee's head/eyes are still looking right at Cam.  He knew what he was doing.

I was more so replying to people calling Smith a bonehead, he did what he was suppose to, luckily no one got hurt. People acting like smiths 15 yard offsetting penalty was a back breaker is revisionist history

I apologize then. just bothers me with people saying no one did anything like they all hate Cam or something or wanted it to turn into some kinda "gang warfare". I'm glad Smith did what he did. I would have done the same but I sucked at football so me getting ejected wouldn't have mattered. lol. I do understand both side. you don't want to hurt your team chances at a win either.

Standing up for your QB and throwing away the 15 free  yards you got are 2 different things. Smith's penalty was unnecessary and hurt the team. Several other players stood up for Cam without drawing penalties. Every yard/point were crucial in a game that decided in the final seconds.

What can they do? The NFL is going to do nothing about this. They dont care. Cam Newton is not the face Goodell wants for the NFL. Carolina is not the team Goodell wants for the face of the NFL. If it had been Matt Ryan that got leveled you would have seen a suspension. This team needs to light some people up. I dont give a damn if we lost our next game 70-0 if it meant we showed the rest of the NFL we aren't taking this poo. It time for this team to put a Steve Smith size chip on its shoulder and give the rest of the NFL a big FU.

Indeed...one of several stupid moves by Smith.

This was good of Smith. I know it cost us yards but it should have given the offense and defense an electric spark. To the offense I think it did, but the defense it rolled over for Cam. At this point refs would not call holdin on Atlunless they had to. This game Cam had to defeat the odds cause they were not going to let our defense get to Ryan. Rigged and stacked against Cam as usual . He almost pulled it off still.

And yet even with only Smith reacting, we managed to wipe out any yardage that would have been gained from the penalty.

Offsetting such an egregious act with another penalty seems like absolute BS to me. They need to look at changing that. Not all flags are created equal.

Not sure his intent was to go to the helmet ....don't matter.

It wasn't, he's just young and made a bonehead play. Deserved to be thrown out and fined, but it wasn't malicious. Cam said there's no place for that kind of hit, also said it looked worse than it was, that he wasn't mad at Kazee and it was just two football players going full speed.

Naah, Ryan gets his fair share of hits like that without calls too. Although, nothing like the Denver game, which still bothers me when I think of it. Still think they let Cam play with a concussion in that game.

Think you must have to win a super bowl before they protect you like that.

What do you want them to do? they ejected him. you want them to put him in jail? hang him? shot him? I would understand if nothing happened like has happened in the pass with hits in the pass. but what the fug are y'all people bitching about.

Who is defending what Kazee did?

It's been clear for years that it's not only OK to hit Cam, the league won't do a damn thing about it, hell, they damn near encourage it. The players are the only ones who can do anything at this point. This team needs to stand up for Cam. I don't care if half the team gets ejected and we forfeit a game or 2. That would be the best loss in the history of the franchise and I would cheer them for it. The message needs to be sent from Carolina players to the rest of the league. They aren't going to take this poo anymore and anyone who does is going to pay the price on the field.

I'm an avid hockey fan and there's always a goon on every team who's job is to take up the fight when his teammates take a cheap shot. I realize they can drop the gloves and swing at each other but the mentality is still the same. A team without that fight mentality is going to get pounded. Nothing the refs do is going to stop it. The NFL has told the rest of the league to keep pounding and Cam to Ice up son. That has to change.

back to my question. what more do you think should have happened to the guy? he got nailed after the hit. the refs ejected him. he will most likely be fined. (I'll be mad and bitch if not) could possibly be suspended because of the hits he did in preseason too. was I mad about the hit? hell yes, I wanted to punch someone. I'm I pissed about how they have treated Cam in the past? fug yea. But they did it right Sunday. All I want is for Cam to be treated like every other QB no better or no worse.

Sorry, probably should have clarified that.  I didn't even mean here on the huddle necessarily.  I was referring to all my social media Sunday afternoon/evening.  Falcons fans were saying that the hit wasn't dirty and that if Cam runs he needs to expect to get hit like that.  All kinds of people (Panthers fans and fans of football in general) were calling them out, but they maintained they saw nothing wrong with it...
