The most disappointing thing about Sunday was the offense's reaction to the headshot on Cam

The hit occurred before the whistle.  Players may not have been watching the play--I hope they were not.  Secondly, the Smith retaliation minimized the benefit we received, taking us out of the red zone, if memory serves me.

What did you expect to happen?  These are teams, not gangs.

op has a legit point despite the 5 pages of insults to his thread. i noticed it in the gameday thread when someone insulted torrey for it. i was disappointed more people didn't get involved. it's a coaching thing, i feel like rivera overemphasizes stoicism and 'maturity' to the detriment of team culture.

If someone sucker punches you in the face when you're walking down a Walmart aisle, should you not hit back out of fear of being arrested yourself?

So now you're mad at cam for not fighting back? make up your mind.

I agree, it cost us nothing because we scored, but if we hadn't, it would have been bad. Taking any dumb mental error penalty that close to scoring is the worst kind. Yea, it was a cheap shot by the DB, but Cam also sold it more than it was IMO, just glad he's ok and none of our guys got ejected for it.

I agree we have mainly some softies on this team. Our real fighters got kept on the bench. A lot of the ruckus on the field was our guys holding up our own. Props to smith for doing something. I wish we had an OL like Lewan who is a mean dude and not afraid to beat some ass. Oher was similar. Need more mean dudes on this team.

When Cam nearly had his head taken off, the only person on the team willing to do anything about it was Torrey Smith, a guy that just got here in March. None of the guys on the offensive line did jack poo, in fact, someone held Smith off Kazee. Ryan Kalil has been here forever and didn't do poo. Devin Funchess didn't do poo. Christian McCaffrey didn't do poo. If a killshot like that had happened to just about any other QB in this league, there would have nearly been a bench clearing brawl. Yet our soft guys just stood there and didn't get the Franchise's back against a division opponent.

This team has been sorely lacking in edge since guys like Steve Smith and Josh Norman were shown the door. Torrey Smith apparently has some edge so good for him. I think Donte Jackson has edge too and wouldn't have tolerated something like that if he had been out there. But I hope Tepper has a different philosophy from Richardson in that he won't be afraid to sign players that are willing to actually defend their fellow teammates out there. It's what we're lacking most.

I agree with these. Sorry but if there’s any reason to kick somebody’s ass on the other team it happened Sunday and everyone but one guy just stood there. Tf is that. Penalties were doomed to offset anyways might as well have kicked some ass, but no. I hope someone like TD who is a respected leader is chewing people out telling them they have to have cams back

I got a ton of poo reps, yet the posts are mostly in my favor. Guess some of you guys can't handle the truth: this team is Charmin soft, especially the offensive line. Haven't read a post to refute that yet.

I poo'd you because I disagree with the retaliation mentality. Far too often you see the retaliation get the penalty while the instigator gets off scott free. Play disciplined football.

Did anyone watch the game? Smith’s penalty was offsetting so we kept the yardage cam gained before the hit and several plays later scored. Guarantee if that hit knocks cam out for weeks everyone would have wish someone put his ass in the dirt. No ones saying hurt the dude or hurt Matt Ryan but it needs to be establish that poo don’t fly and we won’t take that......I swear some of you act like if you saw your friend getting stabbed to death you call 911 instead of intervening(I know and extreme metaphor). In a much dire situation yes this would have been a bad play by smith
