I agree with being smart and trying to avoid penalties. But...sometimes they are needed to establish the rules and regulations of the game.

Im not making it a big deal but I can see what OP is saying. My first thought was, where TF is everyone at? You played football and you know in most cases if you cheap shot a QB there will be/should be a fight...immediately.

Not sure his intent was to go to the helmet ....don't matter.

Idgaf about the yardage or off setting penalties, a hit like that knocked Flacco out a portion of the season. A hit like that too our qb could literally derail our season, good job Torrey and he’s lucky turner wasn’t out there cause he would have leveled his ass, I distinctly remember turner being one of the few guys sticking up for cam when he was getting blasted in 2016

I got a ton of poo reps, yet the posts are mostly in my favor. Guess some of you guys can't handle the truth: this team is Charmin soft, especially the offensive line. Haven't read a post to refute that yet.

You have to remember though that Ron Rivera preaches very heavily against this.

Rivera was livid after the 49ers game. He made a point of saying he never wanted to see our guys make those kinds of stupid mistakes again.

Now, Torrey Smith being new to the team, he may not be as familiar with that as others.

Ron doesn't like anyone showing fight...literally or figuratively.  Cam has been getting blasted for years with tons of no calls, and Rivera doesn't stand up for him.  It's pathetic.  He's the poster child for a Jerry Richardson coach, but I don't think he'll get that same courtesy from Tepper.

It's true that we really have no alpha (i hate that word but i can't think of a better one to use atm) personalities on the offense other than Cam. Greg Olsen would go after a ref maybe, but never a player on the other team. No one else really does anything except stand around and look despondent. The "brawl" was basically just big dudes trying to keep little dudes separate after Torrey went after Kazee. I want one of our offensive lineman to send the next DB or linebacker that headhunts Cam flying. I guarantee you Moton did to Kazee what Smith did, people would think twice about going after our QB like that.

Yes? I'll trade 15 yards for our QB to stop getting his fuging brains scrambled everytime a defender has a free shot at him. Ron, the referees, the league, have all tried to protect Cam. He's even adjusted his own game by getting the ball out faster, running out of bounds and sliding. Guys are still going after his head game after game. So yeah, maybe a real bench clearing brawl where a couple of their guys get sent under that tent too is what's needed.

? Dude.... The hit was before the brawl. Him not getting hit like that prevents that, not someone wanting to do something about it after the fact lol

I hope people realize that without Torrey retaliating it’s very likely Gilbert gets a couple snaps before cam is ready to be back in the game, also the 15 yards or not we still scored and cams first down run still was uneffected.

He led with his helmet. I dont see that he could not stop but altered his head. I think it was dirty. He was sliding I know he saw that.
