Since Matt Kalil went down, the Panthers have had two others start at left tackle

I said this to my friend,  we signed a dude off the fuging street and he is way better than kalil.  Gman blew big time on the signing. That was bad enough but than hurney doubled down and fuged with the contract so we can't get rid of him now.

Gettleman is ultimately responsible but I see also see the signing as him throwing a bone to "Team Loyalty".  He was catching heat for Olsen and TD negotiations, neglecting the line, still hearing it over J-No. Bringing in another Kalil was a way for him to appeal to Richardson and company's approach to running the team

Pretty sure the Panthers can cut him after this season with a Post-June 1st designation and save a little money and space on the cap.

No, they're never going to recoup any of the sunken cost and there will still be a hunk of dead money, but they'll at least be rid of his salary.

Spot on. Now do Silatolu

Too bad Rivera will still probably go with Kalil once he's healthy.

I doubt that.  Look how many on here assumed he'd put Amini back in when he was recovered.  He didn't.  Not a single snap on the OL.  RR not as dumb, or stubborn, as many on here assert.

Chris Clark was spectacularly unspectacular and it was great

I think he was unspectacularly spectacular.

Man joins the team Wednesday, is 32 years old, didn't even know the playbook -- yet played ALL 65 snaps at LT, allowed only 1 sack, and got high praise from Van Roten and RR.

Whoda thunk it?  Man deserves a medal.  (and a starting job as long as he can stand up.)

I get that extreme dislike for MK, I really do . . . but unfortunately we're stuck with him.

It's not until 2020 that he actually costs us less to cut than he costs us on the roster - and even then he's still going to cost us 10 million against the cap if we cut him.  Nobody is going to trade for him.  He's clearly not going to give back any money.

I would love for him to retire . . . but would you walk away from 30+ million dollars?  I mean . . . 30 million bucks.  I don't care how terrible I am, or how many people are pissed about it . . . I am not walking away from 30 million dollars when all I have to do is show up.

I can't think of many worse deals tbh.  Brock Osweiller to Houston maybe?

If he retires, the dead money is the same as if he's cut, although the Panthers could go after the the prorated bonus money if he retires. But, yeah, I wouldn't retire either, I'd make them cut me.
