Russell Wilson is no Cam Newton

I'll keep saying it...  it's why, imo, Cam is the best player in all of football.  He is literally unstoppable.  The most dynamic weapon in terms of ability to run any and every run in any playbook, pass, and he touches the ball every snap.  No player has carried the weight of his team's workload before like Cam does.  No team's success has ever been more dependent on one player than ours with Cam.  It's why teams just try to take the easy way out and cheapshot Cam, hoping to knock him out instead.

Russ' OL has always sucked, but before, he always had the weapons and a fuging rabbit's foot up his ass.  Now, he has neither...

Cam never had the protection or plethora of weapons and still dominates.

Russel Wilson has been one of the luckiest players I have ever seen play the game of football. For some reason analysts just chalk it up to him being a "gamer". No there is nothing inherently good about narrowly avoiding sacks because you held onto the ball too long, running 20 yards backfield, miraculously avoiding getting sacked then just chucking the ball up and praying for a miracle catch which happens more often than not.

Sorry I know there is a lot of pack fans on here who love him, but god damn he is so overrated.

Sounds like Jimmy Clausen with a horseshoe up his ass.

I get that the raiders got a couple first round picks for Mack but holy crap that trade is going to go down as one of the worst trades in NFL history especially if the Raiders don’t hit home runs with their acquired picks. Mack basically has defensive player of the year locked up the second week of the season.

Aw c'mon man. Mack had 5 tackles, and that strip sack. That is not DPOY numbers. Now granted. On that strip sack, he went through 3 guys. Got chipped by the RB, then double teamed by the RT, and RG. But man, that 1 play does not a great game make.

Well, I guess it is "Over Reaction Monday".

Never have I seen a player get so lucky over so many seasons. When I make fun of Wilson I always act like I am falling backward and just chunking a ball up for grabs because let’s be honest, that is a majority of how his big throwing plays happen. Not saying he isn’t a dynamic playmaker out of the pocket but good god the dude seemed like was Odins other son, it was ridiculous.

It does feel like this Seahawks team is at the end of its road. Players seem to be over Carrol and Wilson's shtick, they have been struggling to put together a remotely competent O-line for several seasons now, and their vaunted defense is a ghost of itself (and will be even more so with the inevitable departure of Earl Thomas.) Their entire offense is Russ throwing it up on a prayer, and somehow Lockett or Baldwin find their way to the ball. They are going to have to evolve, much like we have tried to do, to survive

Seahawks are a dumpster fire. Complete rebuild mode. Seems like the Steelers may be approaching the end of an era too.

Wilson is an elite, tier 1 qb, currently playing with possibly the worst offensive line in the league, and no receivers of note.  And when I say worst line in the league, I mean literally, not like when the huddle exaggerates about the Panthers' line just because they are in the bottom half of the league some seasons.   If the Panthers were starting Brandon Marshall, Tyler Lockett, Nick Varnett, and Chris Carson at the skill positions, the huddle would be a nuclear wasteland from posters rightfully screaming about lack of weapons.  And despite all this Wilson is one of the most accurate throwers of the ball in league history, throwing dimes just as often as Brees and Brady and Rodgers.  Even if he didn't have any ability to scramble, and he does have a immense ability to extend plays that ignorant fans dismiss as 'luck', he would still be a good QB.  If Wilson were 6 inches taller and 40 pounds heavier, he'd easily be the best QB in the league, instead of merely top 5.

That being said, he doesn't have shortcomings as a teammate and leader, which I don't believe him to be.  Definitely a player with a history of dividing a lockerroom in a way that it gets blamed on others.
