Through 2 games, can we all agree the playcalling is better?

Once again and for me personally the last time I will say it...  It wasn't all Shula's fault.

Mostly.. I won't argue that.  But it was a combination of play calling, personnel(huge), coaching philosophy (i think most of us see this now), and injuries.

What has improved drastically are both the overall run efficiency and Cams taking the short passes.

I think Norv still needs to call plays, then analyze what we do well or don't.  Look at what has worked and basically self scout.  I mean it's like getting anything new, it takes a while to get to know it.

Offensively yes

Cam only got sacked twice and we had little ammount of negative plays with a patch work OL.  Helping scheme around to help is something Shula would not do.  He'd keep shoving that square peg in the round hole.  Biggest issue with the offense yesterday was WRs not getting open and drops.

Defensively it all looks the minus less blitzing.

Same 10 yards off zone where a QB with time can pick through. Bradberry shut down Julio.  But their TE and Ridley had a Field day on quick passes and holes in the Zone

I guess I just expected more. I'll just leave it at that.

*expects more but won’t fault Funchess*

Can’t make this sh!t up. You realize the fact that teams can literally just throw a corner on Funchess and call it a day makes things as a whole for the entire offense a lot more difficult.

No defensive coordinators worry about Devin. They simply ask whichever corner he lines up against to take care of him.

It's kind of stupid to expect Funchess to be Julio Jones.

The problem is less about Funchess and more about getting the best supporting cast around him.

But you keep on making sh!t up.

Um what? Around Devin?

He is already getting one on one matchups every week, that’s the idea of a supporting cast. To limit the double teams your number 1 WR sees.

If Devin can’t excel in this exact situation (which I always said he wouldn’t be able to) there is nothing more a team can do.

And yes, no one expects Devin to be Julio but he’s holding this offense back in more ways than one.

Funchess not only produced yesterday, but produced last season under extremely unfavorable circumstances. If he keeps producing the yardage he produced yesterday for the remainder of the year, he is over 1000 yards. As far as yardage, what more do you want? It's like I said, he needs to catch key passes, and we need to use him more effectively when we get down to the red zone.

He isn't a dynamic receiver, but he can at least be a great possession guy like a Keyshawn Johnson in his prime (at least).

You act like the dude is supposed to be otherworldly like Julio. The fact is that you may have 5-10 or so guys in the league right now that can carry a team on their back. Devin has never been one of those guys, and, frankly, our offense has not been run in a way to even bring about that kind of production  from any receiver.

I don't know why you would want to argue that the emergence of Moore and/or Samuel won't help Funchess and everyone else to excel. It makes no sense. Let's get our best guys out there and see what they do.

I'm still confused why we haven't used some of our underneath crossing routes that we displayed in the pre-season...maybe they were designed really for Samuel and Moore?  Seems like a solid way to get some guys separation.

Yea lets get Moore in the game and hope Samuel is ok two top draft picks have to step up.  Torre is just a player and Funch was never a number one. We drafted guys to be play makers so get them in the games
