I have a different feeling on that. First, he did his job, by cutting off the edge, and turning the RB back up field. Mayo got washed, so there was no one there to clean up the play. And yeah, the chase down was cool to watch.

With that said. I truly believe that when Jackson shot up to set the edge, he got there quicker than he though he would. He kinda went wider than maybe he should have. He maybe could have taken a more direct path to the edge. Where he maybe could have met the RB, and shut down the whole play. But I guess I am just trying to nitpick, trying to make my view sound reasonable. After all, turning the play back up field is his main priority there.

Either way, I would not say that run was on him.

Mayo shouldn't be playing OLB, point blank. It's not his fault that he is being asked to play out of position but he has been awful. When we go to base we need the athleticism that Mayo simply cant provide on the outside?

How retired is Kam Chancellor? Would he come out for a shot to make our team 10 times better?

Anyone else notice that Corn Elder got some time at outside corner late in the game? Not sure if it was a coaching decision or if it was an injury. Jackson got burned on a few plays today including the TD to Ridley. Not the best day for the rookie.

Maybe it's bc he's not as great as all of you hope. Bradberry was lights out tho honestly

Jackson, in his second pro game, had a forced fumble on a play where he forced the runner inside as he should've done, he intercepted a ball on a good pressure by Horton, and overall had a good game in coverage.

DJ Moore proved that he needs to be our number 1 option at receiver with his catch and run touchdown as well as his one rush where he avoided 3 tacklers.

Ian Thomas dropped a touchdown, but had he caught it that would've been a solid trifecta for our 1st, 2nd, and 4th round picks. I'd like to see Haynes get in the game as a stand up OLB type till Davis gets back instead of playing Mayo.

I didn't use sarcasm and I didn't say that WR's should never win that situation. I simply replied to CPcavedweller saying that he didn't see Jackson get burnt. I'm not sure what your point is.

@CPcavedweller said he did not see Jackson get burnt, per se. You came back with "Jackson was man up on Ridley and Ridley beat him inside to catch a slant for a TD = burnt." It was the tone you used to claim that yes, Jackson did get burnt. On a play that is one of the toughest to defend for a CB. Who also happens to be a rookies, playing in his second game. So yes, I took offense to how blunt, and eager, you were to make sure you did in fact see Jackson get burnt.

    Hence my reply.

TD will be back soon, but I don’t think our head coach would play Carter even though he’s way more athletic. The speed of Kuechly, Shaq and Carter would be impressive.

Carter isn't likely to know the calls on defense yet considering he had to work his way into getting more reps. However, if Washington and Rivera are as great of defensive minds as people say they are, they would put Carter through a crash course for these next two weeks. We also need to give Haynes some looks because our front 4 wasnt generating enough pressure late in drives.
