Personally I think Norv called a great game & love how Cam is hitting his check downs. Funchess dropped 3 balls,  Torry Smith can’t catch poo, Anderson was at complete fault for the Int, & the Oline can’t hold up long enough to pass down field. Thought Norv did a solid job.

The only thing I saw that could possibly be a "Ron" issue is the play calling with 4:02 left in the first half and the final 2:00 drive.

 

With 4:02 and knowing that ATL gets the ball to start the 3rd - why, why, why are we going for the long ball?  We have always been better at grinding long drives than as a long ball team.  So then we proceed to pass on 2nd down with Cam sacked.  Don't get the 1st down and give them the ball back to score before the half - you don't let an offense that suddenly hot back on the field!  Grind it out with the 5-7 yard plays that are what we do best.  Even if the long ball had scored, you would still have left them 3+ minutes to answer and get the ball at beginning the 3rd.

Then its on coaching in the last 2 minutes that we have an offense that gains 4 yds and it takes them 20 seconds to get lined back up?  My God, Green Bay took 29 seconds to go 41 yds at the end of their game.  We snap the ball with 52 seconds, gain 4 yds and the next snap was under 30 seconds - that is on coaching - no urgency!

I am inclined to think a lot of the blame should be on Eric Washington.

This is his defense so if we are giving up seven yards a carry to a team we should know how to defend inside and out its his fault.

I think the playcalling was great this game. The defense and receiving corps failed to reciprocate it.

Norv called plays that didnt get Cam sacked and little negaitve plays with a patchwork  OL and HIS WRs sitting on the Bench.  Moore who he begged for to draft and a camp MVP.  Wright a guy from HIS SYSTEM PRIOR TO BEING HERE and Thrived.  

Vs some cast off #3/4 WR from another team and a guy who has been here.  Very Ron like.  You know, where weve all b!tched and griped about him leaving younger more talented guy on the bench while starting the Vet.  Yeah that Ron.  The Same Ron who oversees things, runs things, the HEAD coach.  Whos team has had these issues long before Norv arrived or even left his old job

I put the blame, in order, on: pass catchers as a group (of course some did well, cmc, wright, Moore), Ron, the defense as a whole but mostly the line.

This game was 98 perent on the Dline playing like a JV HS squad and way too many players on offense having butterfingers.  

Cam passed for over 70 percent accuracy with all those drops and we still had a chance to win in the waning seconds of the game. Let that sink in.
