Can’t argue with factual statements like that...lol.

Cam is the only reason I’m a Panthers fan. But some people need to get a grip on reality.

I think you're having more of an issue with the messenger than the message.  A huge part of my issue with Ron is that he has placed an inordinate amount of burden on Cam because of what he lacks as a coach, while also repeatedly leaving him out to dry.  Cam is constantly getting cheapshotted and headhunted while Ron continues business as usual...  Today was the most emotion he has ever shown after a shot on Cam and it's only taken 3 years to get that reaction.  And teams target Cam because they know he carries Ron and the entire team, yet Ron makes no adjustments to make them think otherwise.  I feel any other coach worth his salt would've already won a Superbowl with Cam and Luke as their centerpieces.  I think he is a fine human being, but he is not a good coach, AT ALL.  He is constantly out-strategized and out-coached.

No, I don't expect to go 16-0 every year.  I said winning coaches/franchises never write a game off as a loss before it is played, like we so often like to do, especially not against division rivals.  I also said, we should never expect to lose, but losses happened.  My issue with Rivera isn't that losses happen, it's against who they happen and how they happen.

And are you asking me to go through every single game of his career as a HC here?  lol.  Well, I guess we'll never know any different unless there is a coaching change, but I'm saying if you pair any good coach with Cam and Luke and he would have better results than Ron has had.  A good coach would have made adjustments in the Superbowl, despite what the refs were doing.

The truth is, Ron doesn't coach like he needs to win unless his job is on the line...  it's no coincidence that "Riverboat" wasn't a thing until it was borne out of necessity or Ron was going to lose his job.  And that is the issue I have with him.  Unless he is being pushed, he just defaults to the same old stuff.  And he has done things that demonstrate his lack of ability to manage and strategize time and again, that I have never seen anywhere else in all of my years of watching football - calling a timeout for the Saints years back when they couldn't stop the clock before halftime, which allowed them to score.  The incessant waste of timeouts and poor clock management.  The lack of respect he commands from the officials, which in turn rolls downhill onto our players.  The lack of adjustments and urgency.  Blaming issues on youth and inexperience, while not playing young players and fielding one of the oldest rosters in the league.  The lack of evolution and aggressiveness.  I watch college football and pro football whenever and wherever if we aren't playing, and he makes mistakes others never have and never will.  And again, he was interviewed 8 or 9 times without getting the HC job before we offered him one here...  maybe they were onto something.

Then you need to watch more football. Or find a way to get a better grasp of what you’re watching. Because I’ve watched the Steelers, as close as one can, since 1975. With 3, and only 3, Head Coaches that are pretty well respected. And all those situations came up under each one. Repeatedly. Everyone wants this organization run like the Steelers, but can’t wait to fire a coach after a bad game.

And it’s all cherry-picking again, with a few random instances overshadowing his entire resume. In your mind. I value a coach getting to the playoffs. Not worried who interviewed him a decade ago. But if it helps your agenda...have fun.

And that is all completely an opinion. With nothing more than “because I said so” to back it up. That’s cool. Everyone has one.

I'm "cherry-picking" historic-type, unprecedented bad decisions out of the years he has been here...  Like I said, what is the alternative you're looking for?  Me to go game by game?  That's impossible.  I just know watching any and every other coach I've seen that came anywhere close to making the same repeated mistakes that Ron has made lost their job long ago.

Meanwhile, you're comparing Ron to Noll, Cowher, and Tomlin?  Good luck with that.  I watched Cowher for years and Tomlin during his tenure, Ron is not that caliber of coach...  AT ALL.  And the reason the Steelers have so little turnover was because their ownership has been SMART and have had forethought, and they hired the right coaches each time they interviewed so they didn't need to fire them.  We haven't...  Capers, Siefert, Fox, Ron...  all coached past their shelf-life because they were conservative and couldn't adjust.

I wish we could give Tomlin this same roster and I guarantee you he would win a Superbowl with it.  So, I'm glad you brought up the Steelers, an organization that was progressive in their thinking and their hires, which allowed them consistency, unlike us...  all while Ron is a remnant of the past ownership and their conservative, coach-not-to-lose, PSL-sales-matter-more-than-wins approach.

In short, there is no reason that Ron shouldn't have already won a Superbowl with Cam and Luke, but he hasn't because he just isn't a very good coach and having the best player on each respective side of the ball has carried him to whatever success he has had here.  Great coaches do more with less, average coaches do less with more.  Ron is the latter.

And this is exactly what I’m talking about. Half(or more) of the Steelers fan base wants Tomlin gone. Which is ridiculous. But they are using the exact same argument as you are. Why can’t he win a SB with Ben, Bell, and AB? And he makes all the same in game mistakes that Rivera does. But, since you don’t watch him every game, you assume it isn’t happening. And this would be your perfect replacement? Or who do you have in mind?

lol, except Tomlin HAS ALREADY WON A SUPERBOWL before Bell and AB, lol...  He did more with less, like I said.  I don't want to hear that poo.

I watch Steelers games often, they were among my favorite teams before we got the Panthers, so I have seen all the controversies under Tomlin.  He is a good coach, and he stands behind what he says and does.  The Steelers issues are mismanagement of off-field issues (not extending Bell, letting Ben run his mouth, AB recording locker room speeches, etc.), not coaching issues.

And FWIW, again, Tepper was rumored to be one of the minority owners who wanted Tomlin gone, so what do you think his assessment of Superbowl-less Ron is coming in?  LOL.  That just further proves my point that Ron is a subpar coach.

And since you obliged, let's dig further...

Tomlin, without Cam and Luke:

Regular season: 116–60–1 (.658)
Postseason: 8–7 (.533)
Career: 124–67–1 (.648)

Rivera with Cam and Luke:

Regular season: 65–47–1 (.580)
Postseason: 3–4 (.429)
Career: 68–51–1 (.571)

Meanwhile, Tomlin has to deal with the cheating ass Patriots just to get out of his own conference every year and still has a winning playoff record.

The NFC has no ongoing dynasty to deal with and yet, Ron has a losing record in the playoffs, so accepting just getting there as some consolation is meaningless.

He also took over a team that just won a SB. Not a 2-14 salary cap disaster. And now you’re going to pretend to know anything about the Steelers. None of those off field issues has caused anything. Not keeping them all healthy has. A overrated DEF has been, and still is.

And can you explain how Tepper, allegedly, wanting Tomlin fired, makes Rivera a subpar coach. I mean, I know you don’t want to use facts or records or playoffs as a measure. But this is reaching. Poorly.

So you’re not going to acknowledge the 3 HOFs that Tomlin has on offense, alone. Of course not. There are other good players in the NFL besides Cam and Luke.

I'm late to this thread but we need to sign a safety pronto. I believe this is the 2nd concussion Searcy has had already this year counting preseason.

Adams had a good game against Dallas but looked old out there today. However, not fair to single him out when entire defense sucked.

Regardless, Colin Jones shouldn't see the field except as a ST, and Gaulden ain't ready.

Don't care if it's Reid but we need someone
