Who else watched that fuging rig job? GGG should have won both of these fights handily and got absolutely screwed. Can’t believe that crap. Gotta get the knockout in fight 3. @top dawg you watch it?

Yes sir. I thought GGG won it also, but he left it up to the judges. I wish that he would've had a better showing in the twelfth round. I guess because Alvarez was the aggressor, the judges gave it to him. I definitely thought that GGG outpointed him.

At the same time, Golovkin looked like he was gassed to me, so I'm not sure if he should do it again. It may be time to hang up his gloves.

It's a shame that they gave it to Alvarez. I hope that Jaime Munguia steps up and knocks his ass out in a couple of years.

I don't get the left it up to the judges argument... both fighters left it up to the judges and the judges should've done their job properly and gave it to the fighter who deserved the win, and they've failed on that end twice now with these fighters.

It was a weird fight for GGG, Canelo was bullying him early and never backing up but that shifted midway through. Early in the 5th/6th I thought GGG was losing steam too but he came back and looked much less gasses than Canelo in the last several rounds. He definitely still has it and I think he'll be ready for a KO in fight 3.

Called it,

I don't care about compu box or punches landed or any of that other HBO BS.

Judges look for

  1. Clean Effective Punching (Canelo) landing the harder shots
  2. Effective Aggression ( Canelo) backing GGG up for at least 7rds
  3. Ring Generalship (Canelo)  Controlled the ring for the majoirty of the fight

Wasn't a robbery by any means,  Canelo stalked him and landed the harder punches for the majority of the fight, look at GGG's face after the fight compared to Canelo.  GGG definitely had his moments when Alvarez was gassing, but not enough of them IMO,

They should do it again, but I don't think either guy is capable of KOing the other one, your going to get 12rd CLOSE fights.

Well, roughly 1/3 of the people thought Canelo with  the fight according to a Twitter poll. That's why you can't leave it up to the judges. I didn't say it was right, but it is what it is.

I honestly was surprised that GGG let Canelo push him around as opposed to doing the pushing for an appreciable time of the fight. It's not necessarily a good look. Moreover, power punches look better than jabs. That's the perception. Now, as a boxing fan, I clearly thought that GGG outpointed Canelo with the jabs and hurt him with enough power punches to win. Unfortunately, the judges didn't see it that way. It really is unfortunate.

I am not ad optimistic as you about GGG's future, much less a Canelo 3 because he isn't getting any younger and he really did looked gas to me, but perhaps that's just him. He certainly handles business each time the bell rang. That being said, I just wish that he would have risked a little more by committing to the body shots and then going to the head, as opposed to being a headhunter all night. That's two fights now where he failed to hit Canelo to the body with much of anything.

I'll be rooting for him for the third time if they fight again. His legacy has probably taken a hit, despite the circumstances or the loss,  because Canelo was really the first time that he fought a first class opponent and, like it or not, he didn't look the same vs Canelo as he did against his previous opponents. He needs to knock Canelo out!

Canelo is a good fighter, but there's just something I don't like about him. He probably cheated the first match, and he became way too smug this time around. Even notwithstanding a third rematch, I would think that Canelo and Munguia are destined to fight. I hope Munguia knocks his ass out. Did you see Munguia?

A third fight will absolutely happen. It makes sense for everybody involved and both sides have already said they want to do it. Mainly everybody just can’t possibly pass up on the money it will bring in. We’ll see how GGG looks but I think he’s still got some gas left in the tank.

I don’t think his legacy takes a huge hit, people will always  remember the controversy with the judges these two fights. At the very least people will know he deserved one of the wins. And it’s much easier said than done to KO either of these guys.

I actually like Canelo as a fighter. Outside the ring I don’t care much for him but he’s an all around beast in the ring, I just didn’t think he deserved the win against GGG but whatever. I agree he and Munguia will fight at some point, not sure how soon though.

No unfortunately all the undercards went so damn fast I missed Munguia. Got to the theater at like 9:45 and they were all over.

Munguia looks like the next possible Mexican star,  but at only 21yr and already fighting at 154# he might be a Super Middleweight by the time hes skillfully ready for Canelo, his last fight against Liam smith showed he still has some seasoning to go before hes ready for the top elite guys.

Victor Ortiz was suppose to fight this weekend but was arrested on 3 counts of rape/sexual assault,  never liked that dude I met him once in San Jose he was a f*ckin idiot, not really surprised by this.
