He was a good QB back then but not a Peyton Manning or Tom Brady. I'm talking about having a QB who can single handedly win games for us. Even at his best Jake wasn't a game changer. He was great compared to what we were accustomed to but we have never had a guy who could just take over a game. It's sad to say that but it's true.

I don't know all the stats, but up until recently wasn't Jake one of the best at guiding his team to 4th quarter comeback wins?

If you think Carolina has had it bad, try being a Jets fan.

Jake and especially Beuerlein were easily better than anyone the Jets have had since Broadway Joe back in the 60's.

You are correct. However this was BEFORE the TJ surgery.

Carolina fans seem to be in denial about the surgery having a negative effect on Jake...yet it is so obvious. You think his picks have been bad so far, wait until we play a winning team (ex. NOT the eagles, dallas, tampa or chiefs). I think then people will really start to see...

For all the folks who think we need a Peyton Manning to win just look at Denver. They traded Cutler for Orton and who is doing better right now? He is the same Kyle Orton but he has better personnel and a much quarterback friendly system. The bottom line is that a better offensive gameplan would do wonders for whoever is our quarterback. While Davidson has done some good things for our running game, it is not creative enough or flexible to put us in easy situations on third down and give jake lots of passing options and checkdowns. It is just too predictable.

Uh, the Panthers don't want a lot of TD passes, they want TD runs. That's why they just drafted a 1st round RT and a 2nd round center and two 1st round RB's recently. How is it possible that there are Panthers fans that don't know this?

If you think that play calling in the passing game is an issue, then Rip Scherer should have a say in the pass play calling. I'm almost certain that Jim Skipper has a big say in what running plays are called.
