Nothing wrong with crunching data to see trends and get a small advantage and I have no problem with Tep chiming in with opinions that he feels will benefit the team.... Now if he starts to play GM and coach on the sidelines, then I’d have a problem.

Teams already use analytics and the most prolific abuser of analytics of our generation is also the most successful head coach of our time as well in Bill Belicheck

Hiring a GM would be a good starting point, but since we don't have a GM yet, Tepper has already started.

I wonder what his analytics say about attacking an Atlanta team with a Starting S and LB out while your team is missing 3 starting o-linemen. Run early and often while attacking downfield with play action passes?

Appolossa Management (Tepper's hedge fund) has delivered since the early 2000's gains in excess of 30% annualized returns, which puts him in the same league as Warren Buffett, Stan Druckenmiller, and Julian Robertson (who's actually orginally from Salisbury NC). Needless to say, Tepper places a massive creedence on empirical data in terms of driving decision making from draft picks to trades. This data-driven mindset I think will yield subtantial results for the Panthers in years to come, I simply cannot express my thankfulness for having him as an owner
