don't forget that our O-line sucked EPIC BALLS every second that foster started on this team.

Cue the Herman Boone speech :)

Boone: WHY ARE YOU FUMBLIN' MY FOOTBALL?!

Petey: My blockers weren't there.

Boone: YOUR BLOCKERS? YOUR BLOCKERS AIN'T GOT NOTHIN' TO DO WITH YOU HOLDIN' ON TO THE BALL!!! DID YOUR BLOCKERS FUMBLE THE FOOTBALL OR DID YOU FUMBLE THE FOOTBALL?

Petey: I did, sir.

Boone: ALL RIGHT! HOW MANY FEET ARE IN A MILE? HOW MANY FEET ARE IN A MILE? YOU PICK THIS BALL UP AND YOU RUN EVERY LAST ONE OF 'EM!!!

Drafting Stewart as a bad idea may be the dumbest thing I've ever read in here.

Considering the source I can't say i'm surprised...

A top 15 pick for a back whose roll is to back up Deangelo and barely manages 50 rushing yards a game, in a draft that was deep in talent at the position. How is that cost effective?

We could have found a guy later in the draft that would have been fine. On the other hand picking a running back in the first is a much safer pick than a receiver or quarterback for example.

Stewart was a good pick not only because he can get yards in the redzone but can get the tough yards between the tackles. If he does get 50 yards a game that will give us 800 yards on the ground and another 200 in the air which is great for a second back. In addition he gives Williams the rest he needs to keep healthy and be fresh in the 4th quarter. Plus if Williams get hurt, he can come in as a starter and there is little to no drop off.

I have said this numerous times. We could have had a franchise QB in Flaco but we choose a backup RB (a damn good one but nevertheless). Steve Slayton was drafted in the 4th even Hightower would have been a good #2.

I want you to look back at the last 4 super bowl winners. What do all these teams have in common?

You have a point. But I would say that Stewart is the #1 back up RB in the league. He and Williams have pro bowl talent. And he allows us to trade Williams if we have to.( I would hate to see him go but it is a realistic possibility).

Honestly I think we should have taken a QB a few years ago maybe 2nd-4th round. But what if the fact that we didn't draft a QB the past 2 years says about Matt Moore? Maybe the FO has some faith in him. The only signed McCown because Matt fractured his leg in pre season.

But then it makes you wonder if Moore is better than Jake, is Fox scared enough to not play him by now?

I would say that Stewart is also the most underutilized RB in the league because he is the Backup. Stewart is one of those rare RB (like petereson) that can be an every down back but we are using him as a sitatuional 15-20 carry RB. If you look at the other team who have a great 1-2 tandem at RB very few have more then 1 1st rounder in there stable.

Sure this lengthens his longevity in the legue but still I doubt he is a panther after his Rookie contract is out. I love that we got meaner and stronger up front last year by getting Otah but I am not as thrilled about using a pick that could have been Flaco on a guy coming off of surgery and then only playing as a number 2.

Who knows we might not have gotten 12 wins last year without him. But I know in the long term we would be better off with Flaco. But as this is all in the past I can do nothing but hope JR sees the errors in his ways and completely cleans house this off-season.
