You mean if this happens?

Yeah OL is going to be the most important thing to watch.

Exactly. I had a dip poo Packers fan (born and raised in NC by the way) tell me "you guys are really going to miss Olsen." I laughed, I was like no, we're going to miss Daryl Williams the most. Cam can win without Olsen, last year proved that. The whole Offensive line was in shambles in 2016, and we had Greg Olsen all year and won 6 games.

FWIW we've already won our first game and Olsen will be back at some point (likely sooner than 8 weeks considering we didn't put him on IR) and so will Kalil or Williams (or both), Trai is short term as are Byrd and Samuel. Season's not even close to being lost and we have great coaches and a solid all around roster. Atlanta's worse off with Neal out for the season and Jones probably out for the season as well.

Truth, volumes of truth here.

Williams is literally being put on IR. So, there are no truths to that at all. LOL. Jones is on short term IR by the way. He had a few facts, but not that many. And Luke was out for four weeks with a concussion. LOL short term. You guys are hilarious.

There is no short term vs long term IR. If a player is IRed, they have to be out of 8 games. Bye weeks don't count. A team can bring back any two players from IR as long as they've been out of 8 games. They do not have to designate those players as returning.

As such:

- if Darryl Williams' surgery and rehab goes well, there is a possibility he comes back after 8 games

- Deion Jones was IRed so he also has to be out at least 8 games, but could possibly be out for the season (just as Williams could also be out for the season) but we don't know for sure either way at this time

- Greg, Trai, Byrd, and Samuel were not IRed so they can come back whenever they are able.

- in a 16 week season, 4 weeks is still short term.

he NFL has had a short term IR rule, better known as the "IR with designation to return rule," in effect since 2012. ... The designated to return player could not practice for at least 6 weeks from the date he was placed on IR, and could not return to the regular roster for at least eight weeks.Mar 24, 2016

They can bring Williams back after 8 weeks, which is short term IR. There are only two slots on the team for that though. Just an FYI.

Deion Jones is also out 8 weeks, and I think he comes back just fine.

Yes, they were not Ired. I'm not sure what Greg, Byrd, or Samuel have to do with my previous statement. But, thank you for bringing them up.

Four weeks could basically determine a season, but alright. Sure. If we go 0-4 the next four weeks (sans the bye week), I'm sure it'll be looked at as a "short term" part of the schedule. LOL.

This no longer exists. Which your link actually states. Short term IR is the old rule.

Only one player per team will be allowed to return from IR to the regular roster, and that player must have spent at least 6 weeks on IR before he will be allowed to practice, and at least 8 weeks before he can return for game day action.

It's literally the same thing, just a name change.
