So far looks like we paid the wrong og in turner, cutting kalil should have been the decision this offseason, and possibly using that money to resigned norwell, honestly should have gotten the deal done before the season or during it in 2017. Either way not the biggest lost but one that could have been avoided

Didn't look like it when watching him on Sunday.  But once again.. 1st game of the year.   Lines take time to gel sometimes.  However with our injuries.. that won't happen this season.

I’d love it if we still had Norwell, but you pay for tackles not Guards, their position is just nowhere near as important.

I think the mistake was signing Matt Kalil & not extending Norwell.

Could be a possibility but you generally keep udfa on their peanut deals as long as possible. Is what it is we draft a guy and got an udfa that both outplayed their draft(undrafted) positions.

We could have extended him instead of signing Kalil and he wouldn’t have cost us nearly as much as he made on the open market. Problem was most will tell you after extending Trai it was crazy to spend that much on offensive guards.

I honestly do not understand how this is a legitimate thought.  Trai has had three great seasons.  The only time he hasn’t been really good he had to play tackle which Norwell cannot and last year when he was playing through a knee injury.  He is younger & still performs better than Norwell who doesn’t have the accolades, but gets paid tackle money.  You were right though that it wasn’t that big of a loss.  Van Roten is filling in fine.
