For people inland make sure to bring anything that isn't secured down inside by tomorrow evening.  Winds are going to be terrible Friday and Saturday.

Yup the rain combined with high winds = trees on the ground.  That's my biggest concern here in monroe.  I live in the woods and cleared out most of the trees on my lot but there are still plenty to be concerned about taking a fall....hopefully we dont get too much wind here.  I'm expecting a ton of rain tho.

HELL YEAH!!! Won't even be a hurricane on Friday. Rain is the biggest threat now. Floyd was a rain event, but it sat over this area for about a week and rained nonstop. We might get sunshine by Saturday afternoon.

Wouldn't get to excited. Usually it strengths right before land fall.

This... hurricanes are known for collapsing a bit and rebuilding.  It’s actually scary as it hits warm waters in few hours and can strength back up to Cat 4 or even 5.  Something to watch for.

My friends, I come to you humbly today in hope that none of you are in the path of this storm. If you are, I hope you've heeded evacuation warnings and have taken every precaution. These things can go to poo pretty quick, and this one looks to be a possible worst case scenario.

While I realize the Carolinas are not the same as Louisiana geographically, these storms can be devastating. You, your states, and your team are all in our thoughts. Here's to hoping best case scenario, safety for all involved, and while a miniscule topic in the midst of a storm, no negative affects to your Panther football season.

All the best from your resident swamp rat. Much love.

you know as much as I give you crap, you're a pretty cool dude

when do hurricanes ever go back to sea if they've been on a path strait for a certain area for several days?

Its going to hit either SC or NC coast head on.

It could happen if the pressure system that has driven it toward the coast suddenly eases up. But that is extremely unlikely. Really just an unrealistic idea

That is exactly my concern. I have a new car that some tree is going to earmark for a nasty fall. Trees all over my apartment complex and my parents' neighborhood near by
