Being happy with a win is fine. I'm happy. But I'm not going to pretend like I haven't seen this same song and dance play out before.

The issue isn't just injuries. The issue is more of the same struggles on offense in converting redzone trips into touchdowns and watching Cam Newton be the offense more often than not while our 8th overall pick fumbles the ball away with a chance to put 7 on the board.

We have plenty of talent, but that talent must elevate if we are going to get into the playoffs, because this division looks even more stout right now with the Bucs dropping 40+ points with Ryan f*cking Fitzpatrick.

We must get things on offense cleaned up. Remember our bye week is super early, and we have a hellacious stretch of games after that capped off with 3 straight divisional showdowns.

Stop clinging to the last remnants of Jerry Richadson football where just being good enough to not suck complete ass is alright while we once again watch Ron Rivera go into an ultraconservative shell at crucial points in games. Mediocrity is no longer the norm. Raise your expectations.

Short yardage goal line situation and run CMC up the middle and he fumbles. You have three bigger guys capable of running. He's not a short yardage back and the staff doesn't see that.

@TheRed has it. No one is talking about that bullshit in the OP.

No matter who is healthy we see the team look like this/do this.

Doesn't matter who is playing, doesn't matter who is healthy, doesn't matter who the OC is, doesn't matter who the DC is, doesn't matter who the fugin owner is. We keep doing the same poo to let teams back into the game and it works against bad teams and costs us huge against good teams.

Plus it's a poo mentality to even start with. Guarantee the players want to keep scoring and playing the defense that got them there instead of going prevent or trying to run out the clock with only runs up the middle. There are other ways to run out the clock and good  teams do it all the time we aren't the only fugin team that needs to run the clock out and you have direct comparisons if you fools actually watch NFL football.

I have 0 issue with the that play call, CMC is a capable every down back and has shown as much this year

That Dallas team is completely different then this Dallas team. Dallas has no passing game right now.

I'm definitely not freaking out. I'm also not glossing over the challenges we're facing. One game just isn't enough of a sample on which to base firm opinions.

I can tell you what I saw yesterday though...

The pattern did not follow that of the typical late game letdowns that we've had in the past. Those most frequently occurred because the offense hadn't came out flat - and stayed flat - in the second half. That would eventually lead to us needing one desperate drive near the end of the game to get back into it.

Yesterday, we had a solid, sustained drive relatively early in the second half. That wasn't something we're used to seeing. And it's a big reason why we won.

Is Rivera still conservative, and sometimes too conservative? Yes, but that's who he is and that isn't going to change. That said, what has changed is we've got a lot smarter guy doing the adjustments, and not just halftime adjustments. Turner is capable of adjusting on the fly. You saw it yesterday early on when he switched to running Newton more after early struggles getting the run game going.

After only one game, there's a lot we still don't know, and the injuries are a huge concern. But if you think nothing changed after yesterday's game, I'm not sure you're paying attention.

Was Ron conservative the last series yes but it was better to not to beat ourselves and have Dallas try to beat us.  Our Defense was on point all game yesterday. We was still up by 8 points you dont want to risk a pick 6 that late in the game.

With that said we need to get our offense going early.  We have 2 great running backs I understand they want get CMC the ball alot.  But they need to get CJ more involved.  Offensive line is just a mess right now.  Which sucks because if we had a decent line this team would be one of the best we have had.  Cam doesnt have the time to wait for the wrs to get open and has to throw short passes.

Alot of hating on funchess but he made some great catches yesterday Wright had a good game and Torrey Smith had a catch.  DJ had the one catch/run and looked decent.

First game of the season got the rust off and secondary did there job.  Get some help on the oline and we will be hard to stop.

I think most people are looking for a more  improved Offense , fluid passing game, strong running game. Sustaining drives and putting up 6 points

It's not about winning one game it's about how is this team going to handle the Saints ,Vikings,  Rams, Packers, Falcons  Eagles  when it's crunch time trying to get home field or win a playoff game

The excitment from a week one game is observing the teams play and asking yourself can this team win a Super Bowl

And most of us believe we cant playing like we did yesterday

Of course most of it win or lose is an over reaction but after hearing so much about scheme ,culture, an attitude changes fans want to see that hard work translate on the field right away

You can see this type of reaction from all fan bases in week 1

Great assessment as usual Mr. Scot, pretty much 100% on point

First few weeks of the season, you care about wins, not how you look. There are less practices in the offseason now, new schemes and more player movement, that it is impossible to judge what teams are what.

Our 15-1 season, we looked terrible the first two weeks but still won.

Last season, the Saints looked liked the worst team in the league and were 0-2 after 2 weeks and look how that turned out.

Kind of hard when you feel you barely beat a bad team.     Missed opportunities, bad clock management, special team fails.... just more of the same from the Rivera regime.

The offense scheme is still lackluster.

Face it folks, this is how this team will always be under Rivera.     The defense has to play the whole game and carry it, and if they don't, it's over.
