The defense did a good job.. and we got the WIN.. but for those of you who watched this game and are thinking that , that game plan wins 10 plus games . I disagree. 

With all this new speed, where were The downfield throws ..

So many uber defensive huddlers every time we win. You think that winning means that the team is free from all cricisim and none of the problems that were seen in the win will have an impact on any of the other 15 games we will play in the season? 

In a way, that mindset is delusional itself. 

I was really glad we won but at the same time still frustrated to see the same themes repeated in a new season. Ultra conservative playcalling, offensive stalling, and the absolute lack of a deep passing game. And lack of a passing game in general lol, we literally had 0 passing TDs. And the injuries of course are terrible, but that is no fault of the team/players themselves. 

Some positives I loved though : Secondary looked good for a change, the defense on a whole played an amazing game. CMC and CJ both averaged 5 yards a carry and we did a good job splitting the carries between Cam, CMC, and CJ for a diverse and effective rushing attack that included 2 rushing TDs.

Are we going to call our usual poo with a new, 2nd yr LT? Are we  going to force square pegs into round holes again when the team loses its security blanket All Pro TE before the 1st quarter is even over?

The OL was getting beat all to Hell and the defense was SUFFOCATING the Cowgirls. So what do you do with a two score lead against a team that has to run the ball to be effective?

The same thing that every team has done to us during the Shula years: let your defense continue to win their phase of the game while your offense grinds clock to help the defense get their wind.

Kinda hard to have big offensive numbers when you run the ball and take time off the clock and the team you play runs the ball and takes time off the clock as well.

 

dallas has a good defense. They were ranked 8th in yards last years and have improved this year.

 

also don’t forget the rain. The rain was a factor yesterday.

lol. I cant help but quote the thread "Are you ready to win" . I told you ppl before new owner with brass balls doesnt change field decisions. Did any of you REALLY think we would come out of halftime with a lead...and NOT do anything other than conservative play??
