We Don't Need to Draft A QB

What has matt moore shown to make u think he is the qb of the future

cause our future qb is already on our roster and his name is Matt Moore. So I don't see why you people are begging us to draft a qb every year cause our future already on the roster. Matt Moore will be a solid starter when he gets the chance to start for us which will not be too much longer if jake keeps messing up.

This thread is stupid. Matt Moore has had his chances in the previous season and the preseason to show what he can do. He isn't any better than Delhomme and isn't a legitimate playoff caliber QB.

He also had a chance to show what he could do in regular season, and he played pretty well.

And from what I remember, Jake's preseaon numbers were not great when he took over as the starting QB in 03. But he ended up playing pretty well.

Preseason serves a purpose, but it is not absolute in determining how capable a player is. If it was, Jake wouldn't have a single int this year.

Lets face it. While I am not as anti John Fox as some here, he has not proven to be a good evaluator of Quarterback talent. In other areas, he does well enough, but not QB. Matt Moore could be a great QB, and I am not sure that Fox would realize.

and you know this because you can predict the future right. it is funny the same things they are saying about moore could have been said about delhomme when he first started.

We should draft a QB and let him duke it out with Moore.

Here's a guy (a real seeper) that you might not have heard of but I would like to see us pick him up in the late rounds,if he comes out.

Jerrod Johnson, Junior QB Texas A&M,6',5" 229lbs. Averages 320 YPG which is 9th in the nation. 16 TDs vs 3 INTs and almost 1900 yds so far this year. Has an absolute cannon for an arm, not very mobile but can move somewhat. I saw him play against Arkansas and looked good playing on a A&M team that was not helping him very much. Mike Sherman, former Green Bay head coach and NFL OC is his coach. Is playing in Shermans pro style system at A&M.

He is currently ranked as a 7th round pick or a undrafted free agent in the 2011 draft, by walterfootball.com. (most others don't list underclassmen). If they did include Johnson he would probably be ranked no higher than the 15th QB (behind Locker, Clausen, Bradford, Snead, McCoy, The Golden Calf of Bristol, Devlin, Hall, Robinson, Hiller, LeFevour, Smith, Pike, and Keenum). When I watched Johnson, I really was impressed, but i that's why scouts review all their game film.

I bet you did'n even know who Joe Flaco was before last season and we got Jstew & Otah out of that draft so I think we still came out good.

Before the draft no, but most college players I don't know until draft season. But as soon as the season is over the draft becomes my life. He was last years Jay Cutler soaring up draft charts because of his superior size and arm strength. The biggest concern was he played against marginal competition but no one could deny his great physical skills.

One of my sleepers from the last draft Tom Brandster, Fresno State, he reminds me a lot of a poor mans Flaco. He is 6’5” and has good arm strength. He is smart and a good leader, and he has shown surprising athleticism for a QB his size. He was drafted in the 6th by Denver. So we could have gotten a guy with similar upside in the 6th this year but our FO was to stubborn to admit they had a obvious hole at the QB position after Jakes meltdown against the cards.

Ok yes Matt Moore is 2-1 as a starter. But if I had a choice right now between Jake and Moore starter for this week and a few weeks to come. I would choice Matt over Jake. Because I do believe Moore is a lot more moible and would throw it a lot more crisp and clean then Jake has in the first 5 games combined. But Matt as a long term solution is yet to be decided since he has only started about 4 games in his NFL carreer. So long as Fox sorry butt stays with Jake. Moore will never have a chance to prove anything he could do. The only chance Moore will have a chance to start is when we are not playoff bounds anymore. That is the only time Moore will have a chance. Just to come in and clean up for the season. But again Matt as a long term solution is yet to be seen. Have to wait and see when he and if he gets that chance after the season. Far as drafting a Top notch QB for the future. We need to. We can't stall any longer. Jake is getting to old to play. Fox is most likly gone after this season and Moore is not none right now to wheather he can handle the starting QB job yet are not.
