We Don't Need to Draft A QB

Not a one of us here knows whether or not Matt Moore has the capability to be a starting NFL Quarterback. Thats not something that can really be figured out by internet message board fans who have watched a few preseason games and a handful of regular season games.

I do know that he did start three NFL games. And he played pretty well in all three of them, winning 2 of 3, and only throwing 2 interceptions in those three games. Admittedly, except for Dallas, it was against subpar competition. But he still looked better than Delhomme has this year. And he has as much of a chance as any rookie we might be bable to draft.

He deserves a shot.

lol matt moore isn't a starting NFL qb

Neither is Jake but he's still starting. How can you say Moore isn't a starting NFL qb? The dude played pretty solid for a rookie qb. Maybe Moore isn't the answer but at least give it a shot. What do we have to lose? If Jake has another gm where he has 3 int's, 0 td's and 80 yds of passing then Fox needs to bench him! Jake is a great guy but something isn't right with him. It really sucks when every time Jake throws the ball your scared that he's going to have another meltdown.

Jake is awful, i agree. but this is the same coach that did basically nothing in the 2008 offseason while he was rehabbing, not caring if he would never even come close to his performance prior to the surgery, and along with the GM gladly handed Jake a 20 million guaranteed contract after turning the ball over 6 times in the playoffs a year later. It's going to take a stretch of 5+ turnover games for Fox to even consider it.

Niether is Jake, anymore. But he is still there.

I think if we can get a rookie OB with a better upside than Moore we should scoop him up. But will Fox and Hurney finally do that next year? I know if we have a new FO they will, but I have a really sinking feeling that Fox and Co. will still be here...

Is there any logical reason why Moore should not be given a chance to show the Panthers and the fans what he might be able to do. In 2007, I thought he was respectable in his three games at the end of the season. The only other chances he had to impress were games that were so far out of reach that nobody was going to be impressive. The best why to put this to sleep is to allow him a fighting chance to prove he is QB material. What do you have to lose, you never know you may find he ahs talent even he's not aware. I think it was Brady who wasn't a high draft pick and he has done okay for himself. Who was Jake before given a legitament chance?

Would you like to be Fox's apprentice because you sound just like him. I don't think he realizes but if you look back at the last 5 Super Bowls 4 of the winning starting QBs were 1st round picks. Big Ben twice and both the Mannings. The last time a UDFA starting QB won one was Warner with the rams almost a decade ago. Bet fox didn't realize that when he passed on Flaco. This league is quickly evolving to passing league and he keeps trying to recapture lightning in a bottle by signing scrubs and drafted guys in the 4th or later. Carr (which wasn't that great of a signing even before it blew up in our faces) was his only real attempt to bring in any real talent.

I bet you did'n even know who Joe Flaco was before last season and we got Jstew & Otah out of that draft so I think we still came out good.

it would hurt some peoples undying love for delhomme.

What kills me is people keep saying moore looked bad in preseason. if that is so huge, how come delhomme looked good in preseason but horrible in the regular season. i mean we all know that preseason is exactly how you judge someone ability to play in nfl. ha.

also has anyone really even looked at matt moore stats for his games played?

a lot of his games he comes in for 1 or 2 attempts. that has really killed his completion percentage.
