I'm amazed at the mixed reactions to this man's name.  He should be revered by every Panther fan who ever was, even those of you who obviously weren't around when he played.

He was the burning fire that makes a great team greater.  The first game I ever attended, he ran back a kick for a score; wasn't even a WR yet, but electrifying already.  He made every game exciting for Panther fans.

He is a complex individual, I'll grant you, though.  On the one hand, the fiercest competitor that, pound for pound, the game has ever seen, and never reluctant to call out a slacker or an opponent -- yet on the other hand, a loving family man and humble and charitable Christian.

When was the last time anyone saw Colin Kaepernick washing a homeless person's feet?

89 was a great WR

89 likely is the Panthers GOAT (entertainment factoring edges Pep and likes)

but for those that knock 89?  Well, 89 deserved to be knocked often in his career.  He was often a horrific teammate.  That actually is putting it too nice.  89 even acknowledges such.  He was the definition of a high maintenance player.   High maintenance players rarely play their entire career in one place (heck, even non-high maintenance ones do).  Carolina was right to move on from 89.  They needed to in order to transition to a Cam lead offense.   You can knock him for all that still think his release was poor as well.

All that can be true.   And you can still love 89 as a Panther with all that being true.  It isn't complicated.

Good to see him stop acting like a petulant child and screwing over the fans who supported him after he punched teammates in the face and demanded a trade.

Wait what?

Steve Smith demanded a trade? When?

And how did Steve Smith screw over fans? By doing what?
