Panthers brought in a QB today

Free agent QB Connor Cook visited the Panthers on Wednesday.

Cook has been making the rounds following his release from Oakland. He also visited the Bills on Tuesday, though he left without a contract. The Panthers don't have much behind Cam Newton—their backup is former UDFA Taylor Heinicke—so adding Cook as a depth option might make sense. Cook has seen just 104 offensive snaps (postseason included) since arriving as a fourth-round pick in 2016.

Came from a Pro Set Offense at Michigan State. More wins, and TDs than Kirk Cousins. Smart, and athletic with good size. Great leader. Everything you would want in your QB.

That said. He hurt his shoulder his senior year. I just do not believe he has ever overcome it. As a State fan, would love to see what the Turner's could do with him. Alas...I just do not see that happening.
