DE Daeshon Hall will be.....

Daeshon Hall was rated as a 2nd round prospect (http://www.nfl.com/draft/2017/profiles/daeshon-hall?id=2557842) and rather than wowing at the quality of players like Cox Jr & Obada (who were signed by Gettleman) let's cry about the ex-GM more than a pumpkin spiceless white girl at Starbucks for trading up in the 3rd to get a 2nd round prospect. It's not like he spent a future 2nd in the 3rd round for a CFL WR. -_-

Also, shout outs to Hurney for the Haynes pick. I've been pissing all over him since Mister Mister brought him back to poo up the team, but Haynes been looking super solid.

We always seem to get in our own way when it comes to the draft. Instead of drafting the sure thing, we rather draft projects or the lesser talented in order to prove that we can coach them up.

Just sucks positional value was not taken into account, knowing that was likely the only top 10 pick we’d have for awhile.  Losing Barnett thinking a jabroni like Hall would suffice was not smart.  CMC had better truly be otherworldly to take the sting away.

Hurney's draft has surprised us all so far

We actually do better than average for draft picks.  The vast majority of picks for the entire NFL don't stick around long, so if you hit on a 1/3 of your picks, you are above average.

It wouldn't be a huddle thread about a failed draft pick without endless mental gymnastics to justify the pick.

Some of you dudes are shellshocked or something. You'll piss and moan to no end about our stadium getting overrun by opposing fans and then login here eager to rationalize front office gaffes.

Seems now that the Gettleman haters can’t moan about CMC, Samuel and Moton being bad players, they’ve hung their hats on Hall now. JFC, it’d be nice if real fans actually want their entire team to play well. I don’t like the 2018 class as much as others but damn if I wouldn’t be happy to have Gaulden figure out his last week problems and ball out as one of our future safeties. Heck, I loved Thomas after the combine and still love him even though Hurney man drafted him. Heck, I’d love to see Hurney get GM of the year knowing what that would mean for our team this year.

Almost nobody on here judges actual moves. They just decide when they here who made the move, and spend years bending everything to fit an agenda.

The key component in these discussions is the baffling at all costs desire to maintain a positive reputation of certain former front office members even if it means the product on the field is suffering. Failure is failure regardless of the last name tied to it.

The gargantuan elephant in the room that further compounds these draft misfires is the absurd amount of salary cap we have tied up in Matt Kalil while we have two franchise cornerstone players only getting older.

People are happy to see ol' mister Jerry Richardson gone but they just can't help but cling to some of that mediocrity.

Like hey we only won 6 games in 2016 after appearing in the Super Bowl, but at least we defended Gettleman's honor and can hang our hat on a shiny executive of the year award.

Thank you for being a shining example of exactly the poster I was talking about.

John Elway brought a Lombardi trophy to Denver just a few years ago at our expense, but Broncos fans sure as hell aren't currently giving him even half as many free passes and flirty smiles as Dave Gettleman has received and still receives here.

Important note. The Panthers are still chasing the franchise milestone of back to back winning seasons almost a quarter century later.

But those Gettleman press conferences made me feel all warm and fuzzy inside though.. :eyeroll:

No. Just some people aren’t so clouded with some sort of agenda that we can judge each move made by any GM on its merit Or judge a guy on his overall record. Something no one is allowed to discuss with regards to Gettleman. You only have one outcome in mind. I can only hope we make the playoffs 4 of the next 5 years.

We were 11-5 last year. What wa Denver’s record again?

We nearly sacrificed our franchise QB to win 11 games last year by expecting him to anchor our failing run game.

How many QB's in the modern NFL can or have physically carried their offense into the postseason?

Then surprise surprise once we get to the postseason we get to watch Ted Ginn light up our defense while the receiver we chose over him for the same amount of money drops passes left and right and looks inferior even to practice squad guys.

Thankfully it seems David Tepper certainly has a higher bar for what success should be than our leftover Gettleman fanboys who are content with revisionist history over wins.
