that's not even the first time Richardson has issued that edict

hello there james anderson...

of course this time Richardson might have known the knives were coming out for him and was trying to make the team seem unpurchasable.

That's probably a discussion of its own.

I'd love to know when he saw the warning signs. Jonathan Jones going to Sports Illustrated and no longer having to answer to the Observer brass in Charlotte probably should have been a big red flag.

I think JR was likely completely blindsided by what happened, both that his actions ultimately came to light and that his fellow owners didn't rally to protect him like he would've for them.

I have pretty much zero doubt that he believed the rest of the owners would cover his ass.

Imagine his face when he found out they wouldn't.

The best part about that entire awful situation was that the man who always put the interests of the NFL as a whole over the interests of his own franchise was ultimately hung out to dry and offered up as a sacrifice by the NFL and his fellow owners when the opportunity presented itself. The guy was always a puppet for the other NFL owners and I hope he realizes that now. Sweet, sweet irony.

without reading this whole thing I want to add because Gettleman force resigning we still paying Michael Oher 2.5 Million when he had a yr lift on his deal also lets drop the he saved us from cap hell ....only thing he did was cut players Like Smith & trade Beason & force Gross to retire early & because of him we are in cap issues now

ALSO unless Matt Kalil gets sweet talked into redoing his deal (which I don't expect him to ) the only way out of this bad contract without a penalty is to let him stay on till the end off the deal OR do the cheapest you cap Penalty cut him & deal with it just like we  & all other 31 NFL teams do & have for yrs

also check out this link & watch the

Dead Money

List for 2018 & see the Names & Cap Number List of former Players & than click 2019 with this amount of saving will help easy the pain

if he don't like it he can rredo his deal

That's easy to say but harder to do.

Major league baseball does those kinds of things (stores quote-unquote "injured" players on IR), but the NFL is much more strict about it.  To do what you're saying, if Kalil isn't actually injured, you'd have to get a doctor to lie.  And then, if Kalil chooses to contest your decision he could go to the NFLPA and take you to arbitration.  You don't want to be caught paying a doctor to lie to cheat the injured reserve system in the NFL.  Trust me, you don't.

"What do you mean they won't accept my internal investigation?"

Part of me still wonders how that would have played out if they had let him do it. Gotta believe it would have been an unholy circus.
